Jamara Riashonn "Shonn" Bell (Born October 25, 1974) is an American former Arena football & indoor football defensive lineman. [1] He played college football at Clinch Valley College.

Early life

Bell was born in Waynesboro, Virginia. [1] Bell played most of his high school football in Germany while his father was stationed there in the Army. His senior year of high school he was moved back to Virginia where he attended Stuarts Draft High School in Stuarts Draft, Virginia.

College career

Upon his graduation, Bell only received attention from Clinch Valley College. Realizing it was his only opportunity, Bell accepted his scholarship to Clinch Valley. Bell finished his career with the Highland Cavaliers with 84 receptions for 1,224 yards and 16 touchdowns. [2] He was an NAIA All-American tight end and All-Virginia tight end.

Bell currently serves as the Defensive Coordinator for the Quad City Raiders, a minor league football team in the MFA.

The Wheeling Wildcats were a professional indoor football team located in Wheeling, West Virginia. The team began play in the Continental Indoor Football League during the 2009 season as an expansion team. The Wildcats were the second indoor football team to be based in Wheeling. The team filled the void left by the demise of the Ohio Valley Greyhounds, who played their final down of football in 2007. The owner of the Wildcats was Dave Bender. The Wildcats played their home games at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

The 2022 Indoor Football League season was the fourteenth season of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The league played the season with 14 teams, up from 11 teams the previous season. The Bay Area Panthers, Quad City Steamwheelers, and San Diego Strike Force, returned from dormancy after electing not to play during the 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Vegas Knight Hawks joined the league as an expansion team. The Cedar Rapids River Kings did not return and the announced 2022 expansion Columbus Wild Dogs pushed back their start date to 2023. The Spokane Shock were removed from the league in February 2022 after the team lost its lease for their home arena.
