Shrawan Ghimire is an Indian actor and film producer associated with Nepali language films. Nepali Cinema, also referred to as "Nepali Chalachitra" is the filmmaking industry in Nepal. This includes films in various languages of Nepal, most notably in Nepali language but also in Newari, Maithili, and Tharu among others. The term Cinemandu is also used, as a portmanteau for films produced in the Nepali language while the Nepalese films produced from Kathmandu and Janakpur in the Maithili language is known as Mithilawood. Both of these film industries are the largest viewing cinema of Nepal and are collectively known as Nepali Cinema.

Kusume Rumal is a 1985 Nepali romantic film written and directed by Tulsi Ghimire. It was produced by Sumitra Paudel under the banner of Sayapatri Films. The film featured Bhuwan K.C, Tripti Nadakar, Udit Narayan and Neer Shah in lead roles. This was the first film in which singer Udit Narayan acted. It is one of the most loved films in Nepal and was the first Nepali film to celebrate silver jubilee.

Ghimire is one of the surnames of the Brahmin varna belonging to Kashyap Gotra in the Hindu Varna System. The earliest known ancestor, the royal priest Gudpal Vyas, lived in Ghamir, Dhurkot, who moved from Ujjain, which was ruled by King Vikramaditya, ancient city situated on the eastern bank of the Kshipra River in the Malwa region of central India. Chino is a Nepali action drama film written and directed by Tulsi Ghimire. The film featured an ensemble cast of Shiva Shrestha, Bhuwan K.C., Sunil Thapa, Kristi Mainali, Sharmila Malla, Subhadra Adhikari, Shravan Ghimire, Sinaura Mistry, Anoop Malla and Sushila Raymajhi. The film is a revenge story of two brothers played by( played by Shiva Shrestha and Bhuwan K.C.) who are separated after their parents were killed by a criminal Rate Kaila(Sunil Thapa). How they reunite and find the reason why their parents were killed and take revenge forms the rest of the story. The film was shot entirely in Nepal.
Lahure is a 1989 Nepali film directed by Tulsi Ghimire under the banner of Kanchanjanga films. It starred Shrawan Ghimire, Tripti Nadakar and Tulsi Ghimire. The music of the film was composed by Ranjit Gazmer. Binod Pradhan was the cinematographer. It was mostly shot in India at Namchi, South Sikkim and Darjeeling. The film was the biggest commercial success at the Nepalese box office at the time and celebrated 151 days in theatres.
Deuta is a Nepali film written and directed by Tulsi Ghimire and released in 1991. It starred Rajesh Hamal, Shrawan Ghimire and Srijana Basnet in lead roles. Many consider the performance by Rajesh Hamal was his career best and the movie that made Rajesh Hamal a super star. The film met with extremely positive response from audience for its story, music and performance of Rajesh Hamal but critics criticised its runtime. The movie was a blockbuster hit at the box office. The film was the highest grossing film of the year and one of the highest grossing film of 1990s. The film won Hamal many awards for his performance.
