Shreyas Puranik is an Indian music composer. He was awarded Filmfare R.D Burman Award for upcoming music talent at the 69th Filmfare Awards. [1] He received recognition for his composition 'Satranga' featured in the 2023 film Animal. [2]
Puranik was born and brought up in Nagpur and attended Somalwar Nikalas School School there and received training in Indian classical music while growing up. Puranik shifted to Mumbai to pursue formal training in music under the guidance of Suresh Wadkar and attended Mithibai College for higher education. [1] [3] [4] He started his Bollywood career in 2014 by assisting film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the music production of Bajirao Mastani's soundtrack [3] and composed song 'Gajanana' for Bhansali's film Bajirao Mastani [5] Puranik composed songs for films such as Photocopy, Lapachhapi and Faster Fene. [3]
Puranik received recognition for his composition 'Satranga' featured in Animal movie, the song is written by Siddharth-Garima and was sung by Arijit Singh [6] Puranik was awarded the Filmfare R. D. Burman Award for upcoming music talent for composing the 'Satranga' song. [1]
Puranik married Aishwarya Bhandari in 2021 in Pune. Puranik had met Bhandari at Suresh Wadkar's music academy in 2011. [7]

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an Indian filmmaker and music composer, who works in Hindi cinema. He is the recipient of several awards, including seven National Film Awards and 12 Filmfare Awards, in addition to a nomination for a BAFTA Award. In 2015, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award. Bhansali is best known for his use of aesthetics, musical vision and Period dramas.

The lyrics were written by Siddharth-Garima. The song features Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the video. Padukone took Kathak dance lessons from Pandit Birju Maharaj, who also choreographed the song. The movie was dubbed into Tamil and Telugu and hence the song was also released as "Podhai Nirathai Thaa" in Tamil and "Meera Chittachora" in Telugu on 15 December 2015. Shreya Ghoshal and Pandit Birju Maharaj sang in all the three versions of the song. The song was reprised in MTV Unplugged season 6 and was also sung by Ghoshal.

The usage of the word "Aayat" in the song is to describe Bajirao's love for Mastani by saying I remember you like "Aayat" from Bajirao to Mastani. The song is sung by Arijit Singh and the Qawwali vocals are provided by Mujtaba Aziz Naza, Shadab Faridi, Altamash Faridi and Farhan Sabri. It is composed by filmmaker and music composer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and the lyrics are penned by A. M. Turaz with Qawwali lyrics by Nasir Faraaz. Sukoon is the debut studio album composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali released under the Saregama label on 30 November 2022. It is Bhansali's maiden stint in non-film music after his compositions for films. The album consisted of nine songs ranging from various genres such as ghazal, semi-classical and Indian folk music. The lyrics were primarily written by A. M. Turaz, Siddharth–Garima and Kumaar, alongside adaptations of poems from Ghalib and Momin Khan Momin.
