History

The Coimbatore Welfare Association, CWA, a voluntary organization committed to the cause of social service with a thrust on education started the Shri Nehru Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School (SNVMHSS) in 1964. On its Silver Jubilee in 1989, the organization started the SNMV College Of Arts & Science (SNMV). CWA serves the cause of education starting from Kindergarten to PG and research level under a single management. It is accredited with "A" grade by NAAC

The college was built on 55 acres (220,000 m2) which is in Malumichampatti off Coimbatore Pollachi Highway(NH-209).

Karad is a city in Satara district of Indian state of Maharashtra and it is 320 km (180.19 miles) from Mumbai and 159 km from Pune. Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam is the chairman and the managing trustee of Dharmaveera K Govindaswamy Naidu Medical Trust, which runs the K.G. Hospital in Coimbatore, India. He was awarded a Padma Shri in 2005. Dr GB, as he is fondly known as, was born on 5 April 1942 at Annur village of Coimbatore district and graduated with a Masters of Science from Madras Medical College. He then received his post graduate training in surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago (USA).
