Shut Down The Streets is the third solo album by A. C. Newman, released on October 9, 2012, on Matador Records. [1] It is Newman's first foray into autobiographical song writing, covering topics such as fatherhood and grief. [2]

Newman cited the Gerry Rafferty song "Baker Street" as inspiration for the album, [3] as well as Gordon Lightfoot's "Daylight Katy", which inspired the "acoustic baroque" tone. [2]
Guest musicians include Marco Benevento, New Pornographers bandmate Neko Case, and Mike Merenda, with production from Colin Stewart. [4]

The album was named a longlisted nominee for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize on June 13, 2013. [8] The album is a shortlisted nominee for the Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2014. Pitchfork gave the album a score of 6.8. [2]
The Sadies are a Canadian rock and roll / country and western band from Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Travis Good, Sean Dean and Mike Belitsky. Dallas Good, a founding member, died in 2022. Dallas and Travis are the sons of Margaret and Bruce Good, and nephews of Brian and Larry Good, who are members of the Canadian country group The Good Brothers.

Louis Kevin Celestin, known professionally as Kaytranada, is a Haitian-Canadian music producer, rapper, singer and DJ. Celestin rose to prominence after releasing a series of mixtapes, remixes, and original music projects beginning in 2010 under the alias Kaytradamus. By 2013, and under the moniker Kaytranada, he began gaining wider recognition and, the following year, signed a deal with XL Recordings, with whom he would release his critically acclaimed debut studio album 99.9% in 2016. In 2019, he released its follow-up, Bubba, for which he won two Grammy Awards including Best Dance/Electronic Album. Celestin is one half of the hip hop duo The Celestics, along with his brother Lou Phelps.

Never Were the Way She Was is a collaborative album by Colin Stetson and Sarah Neufeld, released on April 28, 2015 by Constellation Records. It was recorded live in the studio without the use of overdubs or loops at the End of the World studio in Vermont. Neufeld and Stetson had first met in 2006 when Neufeld's Bell Orchestre shared a bill with Antibalas, who Stetson was playing with. The two artists had previously collaborated on the soundtrack to the 2013 film Blue Caprice. The album received favorable reviews and won a Juno Award.
