Sibi Pulpally is a photographer from Kerala, India. In 2009, he won the Kerala Lalithakala Academy Award for his photo Kaalukal urangunnilla (English: Legs never sleep). [1] He worked as the researcher and one of the producer of documentary Have You Seen Arana? which has won several awards internationally. [2] [3] He also worked as the still photographer for the film Guda, the first film in the tribal language of the Kattunaikkars. [4] [1]

Sibi Pulpally was born in Pulpally, Wayanad district. He runs a photography studio called Sibees Studio in Pulpally. [5]

It is about 24 km from Sultan Bathery, and is almost surrounded by forest. The main source of income is agriculture.

M. K. Sanu is a Malayali writer, critic, retired professor, biographer, journalist, orator, social activist, and human rights activist. He has authored over thirty-six books. He is a permanent member of the International Body for Human Rights, as well as the founding member of the Mithram, a school for the mentally handicapped, in Mulanthuruthy, Ernakulam District, Kerala. He was a member of the award selection committee of the Vayalar Rama Varma Literary Award; however, he resigned in September 2019. In 2011, he won the Padmaprabha Literary Award.

<i>Photographer</i> (film) 2006 Indian film

Photographer is a 2006 Indian Malayalam-language drama film written and directed by Ranjan Pramod. Starring Mohanlal, Neethu, Master Mani and Biju Menon in lead roles. The film is loosely based on the Muthanga incident of 2003, in which a policeman and a tribal were killed. Mohanlal plays dual roles as a wildlife photographer and a farmer. The soundtrack was composed by Johnson.

<i>Nellu</i> (1974 film) 1974 Indian film

Nellu (transl. Paddy) is a 1974 Malayalam-language drama film directed by Ramu Kariat from a screenplay by K. G. George based on the 1972 award-winning novel of the same name by P. Valsala. It features an ensemble cast of Prem Nazir, Jayabharathi, Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair, Sankaradi and Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair. The film portrays the life of the Adiyar community, a tribe of the forests in the Wayanad hills of Kerala, through the eyes of an outsider.

A. Sethumadhavan, popularly known as Sethu, is a Malayalam fiction writer. He has published more than 35 books. He won the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in 2007 for the work Adayalangal. He received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards in 1982 and 1978 for his works Pandavapuram and Pediswapnangal; and Vayalar Award for Adyalangal in 2005. He also won Odakkuzhal award for his novel Marupiravi. Sethu's other literary works include Velutha Koodarangal, Thaliyola, Kiratham, Niyogam, Sethuvinte Kathakal and Kaimudrakal. He also served as the chairman and CEO of the South Indian Bank. In 2022, he won the Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, highest literary honour of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi.

Carbon is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language adventure thriller film written and directed by Venu, starring Fahadh Faasil and Mamta Mohandas. The film follows Sebastian and Sameera on their expedition to find a lost treasure deep inside a forest. K. U. Mohanan was the cinematographer, while Vishal Bhardwaj and Bijibal composed the songs and the score, respectively. Principal photography took place between August and October 2017 in several hilly terrain locations in North Kerala.

Samkutty Pattomkary is an Indian theatre director, playwright, scenic and light designer, screenwriter, and poet from Kallara, Kottayam District, India. He done more than 75 productions in Malayalam, English, Hindi and Kannada. He was a former Council Member of the Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academy. He completed his NDFA in painting from RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Thrippunithura, Kerala. Bachelor and Master in Theatre Arts from School Of Drama & Fine Arts, Thrissur, Kerala. He holds a Ph.D. in theatre arts from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He was formerly an Executive Member of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. In 2018 he received a State Award for his play Lalla by Kerala Sahitya Akademi, Government of Kerala. He is now settled in Thrissur.

Nanjiyamma is an Indian singer who hails from a tribal community in Kerala. She garnered public attention after singing playback in the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum in 2020. The film's title song "Kalakkatha" written by herself in Irula language and composed by Jakes Bejoy attained popularity after its release on YouTube. The song received more than 10 million views in a month.

K. Kunhiraman who writes under the pen name K. Panoor is a civil rights activist, poet and writer from Kerala, India. He has received several noted awards including the UNESCO Award, the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Overall Contributions and Award from the Department of Culture, India government. Panoor's books were used as textbooks in various universities in Kerala. He played a key role in the formation of the Confederation of Human Rights Organizations (CHRO) and was its first chairman.

Keralathile Africa which literally means "Africa in Kerala" is a Malayalam language book written by Indian civil rights activist K. Panoor. In the book, he narrated the annoying scenes he saw during his official journey. The book, which depicts the realities of tribal life, caused a great deal of controversy. The book was published in 1963. It has become an important resource for students, researchers and government officials alike.
