Sichuan Provincial Library is the provincial public library of Sichuan, China, located in Qingyang, Chengdu. [2] [3] It is largest library in Western China and one of ten largest libraries in China. [4] [5] It was institutionally established in October 1912, being as the second earliest public libraries established in the country. [4] [6] [7] The library building is currently adjacent to Tianfu Square, the geographic center of Chengdu City. [8]
Sichuan Provincial Library was planned in 1909. [9] On 20 October 1912, it was officially established and open to the public in a small blue brick building west of Chengdu Shaocheng Park (now People's Park). [10]
In August 1927, due to financial difficulties of the Sichuan provincial government, Deng Xihou (commander of the 28th Army of the National Revolutionary Army in Chengdu) ordered the Sichuan Provincial Library to be transferred to the Chengdu Municipal Governmental Office for management. The library was renamed "Chengdu Municipal Library" by the city government in October 1928. [11]
In November 1929, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education sent a letter to the Chengdu Municipal Government, proposing to take over the Chengdu Municipal Library from the city government. The Chengdu Municipal Government replied and rejected this request. [4]
In 1936, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education prepared to rebuild the Provincial Library. It hired 15 people, including Gu Jiegang, Jiang Fucong, and Shen Zurong, as standing members of the Provincial Library Preparatory Committee. On 10 April 1940, Sichuan Provincial Library was re-established. The library was located in the former Qing Chengshou Yamen on Chengdu Chengshou Street. [12]
The library was renamed Western Sichuan Library in 1950, Western Sichuan People's Library in 1951, and Sichuan Provincial Library in 1952. The final name has been in use ever since. [10]
In June 2019, Sichuan Provincial Library established the Zhang Daqian Documentation Centre. [13]
On 11 October 2020, the Long Scroll of 100 Pictures of Giant Pandas Thangka debuted at the Sichuan Provincial Library. [14]

Sichuan Science and Technology Museum is a provincial public science and technology museum located in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Established in 2006, the museum is affiliated with the Sichuan Association for Science and Technology. The museum includes airplanes, flying saucers, 3D movies, robots and interactive model rockets.

Founded in 1997, the school is widely regarded as the best public middle school in Chengdu City and Sichuan Province.
Wei Hong is a Chinese politician who served as the Governor of Sichuan province between 2013 and 2016. Prior to his assuming the post of governor, he served as vice governor and head of the Organization Department of the Chinese Communist Party in Sichuan province. The Lushan earthquake or Ya'an earthquake occurred at 08:02 Beijing Time on April 20, 2013. The epicenter was located in Lushan County, Ya'an, Sichuan, about 116 km (72 mi) from Chengdu along the Longmenshan Fault in the same province heavily impacted by the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. The magnitude of the earthquake was placed at Ms 7.0 by China Earthquake Data Center, Ms 7.0 by Russian Academy of Sciences, Mw 7.0 by Geoscience Australia, Mw 6.6 by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), Mw 6.6 by the European Alert System (EMSC) and Mj 6.9 by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). 1,815 aftershocks have been recorded as of 00:00 (UTC+8h) April 22.
Li Chuncheng is a former Chinese politician. He spent his early career in Heilongjiang Province, before being transferred to Sichuan in 1998. He served as the Mayor and then Communist Party Secretary of Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, between 2001 and 2011. He then served as Deputy Party Secretary of Sichuan Province between 2011 and 2012.
Sichuan Provincial Women's Prison is a women's prison in Yangma Town (养马镇), Jianyang, Chengdu, Sichuan, China, 50 kilometres (31 mi) away from the center of Chengdu. It is over 20,000 square metres (0.020 km2) large. It became a women's prison in 1998. The Sichuan Provincial Administration of Prisons operates this facility.
The Shanghai–Chongqing–Chengdu high-speed railway is a high-speed rail line under construction in China. The Chinese name of the railway line, Huyurong, is a combination of the abbreviations for Shanghai, Chongqing, and Chengdu. It will run in an east-west direction largely parallel to the Yangtze River, connecting the cities of Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Wuhan, Chongqing and Chengdu.

Haining Library, or Haitu (海图), is a public library affiliated to Haining Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sport. The library is located in Haining, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China, with a main building located in 60-62 Xuelin Street and 11 branches and tens of circulation points located in all the towns and sub-districts under Haining. As of August 2018, the library contains 1.7 million item. It is ranked as a National First Class Library by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.

Yibin University, referred to as Yiyuan, is a full-time undergraduate public provincial higher education institution in the China, located in Cuiping District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. The school is under the supervision of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and implements a city-based school-running system jointly established by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the Yibin Municipal People's Government.
Wenling City Library, also known as Wenling Library, previously referred to as Wenling County Library, is a county-level public library in Wenling, Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China. It is managed by the Wenling Municipal People's Government and operates as a public service institution under the supervision of the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports of Wenling. The library is located at No. 58 Xibin Road, Taiping Street, Wenling. As of 2017, the library's collection reached 1.38 million volumes, earning it the title of National First-Class Library, as rated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
