Greater Victoria is located in British Columbia, Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It is a cultural rather than political entity, usually defined as the thirteen easternmost municipalities of the Capital Regional District (CRD) on Vancouver Island as well as some adjacent areas and nearby islands. The Capital Regional District administers some aspects of public administration for the whole metro region; other aspects are administered by the individual member municipalities of Greater Victoria. Roughly, Greater Victoria consists of all land and nearby islands east of a line drawn from the southern end of Finlayson Arm to the eastern shore of Sooke Harbour, along with some lands on the northern shore of Sooke Harbour.

The Western Communities also called "The West Shore" is the suburban municipalities of Colwood, Langford, Metchosin and The Highlands. The Town of View Royal, which straddles Esquimalt Harbour, may also be included. It is an area of growing residential subdivisions and commercial centres.

Victoria Harbour is a harbour, seaport, and seaplane airport in the Canadian city of Victoria, British Columbia. It serves as a cruise ship and ferry destination for tourists and visitors to the city and Vancouver Island. It is both a port of entry and an airport of entry for general aviation. Historically it was a shipbuilding and commercial fishing centre. While the Inner Harbour is fully within the City of Victoria, separating the city's downtown on its east side from the Victoria West neighbourhood, the Upper Harbour serves as the boundary between the City of Victoria and the district municipality of Esquimalt. The inner reaches are also bordered by the district of Saanich and the town of View Royal. Victoria is a federal "public harbour" as defined by Transport Canada. Several port facilities in the harbour are overseen and developed by the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, however the harbour master's position is with Transport Canada.

Little Mac Ski Hill, known as Little Mac, is a community-operated ski area adjacent to Mackenzie, British Columbia, Canada in the northern Rocky Mountain Trench. The area has one tow lift and vertical differential of 90 m. The longest run is 210 m. In addition to downhill skiing, the hill also has areas for tobogganing and snowboarding.

The Esquimalt First Nation, also known as the Esquimalt Indian Band and Esquimalt Nation, is a First Nations band government of the Esquimalt people. Historically their village was located closer to Victoria proper, but today their main reserve is on the north shore of Esquimalt Harbour adjacent to the Town of View Royal. They are a member nation of the First Nations of South Island Tribal Council, and were signatories to the Douglas Treaties.
Albert Head is a neighbourhood in Metchosin, British Columbia, Canada, part of the Western Communities area of Greater Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It is located around and named after the headland of Albert Head, which is Department of National Defence property. Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt operates CFB Albert Head which contains the British Columbia Canadian Ranger Company of the 4th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group, CFB Esquimalt Range Control, and the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Pacific) which hosts Cadet summer training at the camp. Albert Head Lagoon, at the south end of Royal Roads, derives its name from the headland that was named by the Royal Navy for Prince Albert.
Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway Roundhouse in Victoria, British Columbia, was completed in 1913 and designated a historic building in 1992. The roundhouse is surrounded by railway shops and outbuildings; virtually unchanged since its construction, it is representative of the steam railway era in Canada.

The statue of Queen Victoria is a bronze sculpture depicting Queen Victoria by British artist Allen Bruce-Joy, installed outside the British Columbia Parliament Buildings, in Victoria, British Columbia. The 4-metre (13 ft) statue was commissioned by Richard McBride in 1912, and competed in 1914. World War I delayed the sculpture's unveiling until 1921.
