Silver City is a village in Christmas Island. It is within Flying Fish Cove. In the population there are Chinese, European [1] and a minority of Malays. The village was founded in the 1970s, and the houses were built with aluminum and other metals with the intention of being able to withstand cyclones. [2] In the village there are large houses built in the contemporary Australian style. [1]
