Silver Screamers is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Sean Cisterna and slated for release in 2025. [1] The film profiles a group of senior citizens living in a nursing home, who come together on a creative project to produce their own amateur film adaptation of Edo van Belkom's short story "The Rug". [2]
The film is slated to premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 19, 2025, [3] and will have its Canadian premiere on September 21 at the 2025 Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival. [4] At both festivals, it is slated to screen in conjunction with the completed The Rug.
It has been acquired for theatrical distribution by Blue Ice Pictures. [5]
