The Simca-Gordini Type 15, also known simply as the Gordini Type 15, is an open-wheel race car, designed, developed, and built by French manufacturer Gordini, to compete in Formula One, and was produced between 1947 and 1953. [5] [6]

The 1952 Dutch Grand Prix was a Formula Two race held on 17 August 1952 at the Circuit Zandvoort. It was race 7 of 8 in the 1952 World Championship of Drivers, in which each Grand Prix was run to Formula Two rules rather than the Formula One regulations normally used. The 90-lap race was won by Ferrari driver Alberto Ascari after he started from pole position. His teammates Giuseppe Farina and Luigi Villoresi finished in second and third places. Ascari overtook Fangio's record for the most race wins, scoring his seventh at this race.

Gordini is a division of Renault Sport Technologies. In the past, it was a sports car manufacturer and performance tuner, established in 1946 by Amédée Gordini (1899–1979), nicknamed "Le Sorcier". Gordini became a division of Renault in 1968 and of Renault Sport in 1976.

Georges Berger was a racing driver who raced a Gordini in his two World Championship Formula One Grands Prix.

Robert O'Brien was a racing driver from the United States. He participated in one Formula One World Championship Grand Prix, the 1952 Belgian Grand Prix.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Simca Esplanada</span> Motor vehicle

The Simca Esplanada is a large car manufactured by Simca do Brasil in Brazil from 1966 to 1969. It was manufactured at Simca do Brasil's São Bernardo do Campo factory. Launched at the 1966 Salão do Automóvel in São Paulo, it replaced the Simca Chambord and related models. The basic platform of the Esplanada can be traced back through the French-built Simca Vedette to the Ford Vedette. The Emi-Sul engine was derived from the Ford Motor Company flathead V8 of 1932, thanks to the use of Zora Arkus-Duntov's "Ardun" hemispherical cylinder heads. This iteration was the last version of that design to be built for a production car.

The 1948 Stockholm Grand Prix was a Grand Prix race held according to the then new Formula Two rules, at Skarpnäck Airfield outside Stockholm on 30 May 1948. It was won by B. Bira in a Simca-Gordini T15 entered by Equipe Gordini. At first he was stripped of his victory. This was due to the start, in which Prince Bertil had provided help by push-starting B. Biras car. First a year later, B. Bira was officially acknowledge winner again.

The XIII Grand Prix d'Albi was a motor race, run to Formula One rules, held on 5 August 1951 at the Circuit Les Planques, Albi. The race was run over 34 laps of the circuit, and was won by French driver Maurice Trintignant in a Simca-Gordini Type 15. Trintignant also set pole and fastest lap. Louis Rosier and Louis Chiron were second and third in their Talbot-Lago T26Cs.

The Grand Prix de Marseille was a Formula One motor race held on 22 May 1949 at the Parc Borély in Marseille.
