Simarpreet Kaur "Simi" Chahal is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Punjabi films. [2]

Life and career

Born Simarpreet Kaur Chahal and hailing from Ambala, she first stepped into the entertainment industry in 2014 where she appeared in some Punjabi music videos. [2] After being discovered by talent scouts, she then went on to make her Punjabi film debut with the 2016 film Bambukat directed by Pankaj Batra and starred alongside Ammy Virk which was a success. [3] Her next venture was with Priyanka Chopra where she starred in a film that she produced under her production banner Purple Pebble Pictures called Sarvann alongside Amrinder Gill. Chahal won a Filmfare Award (Punjabi) for Best Debut Actress in 2017 for her role in Bambukat , [4] [5] and, in 2018, won the Best Actress Critics Award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards. [6]

Co-produced by Nadar Films and Rhythm Boyz Entertainment; it stars Ammy Virk, Binnu Dhillon, Simi Chahal and Sheetal Thakur in lead roles. The film follows the story of Channan Singh, a young man falls in love with Pakko and ferries her around the village on his bicycle. However, things change after Resham Singh arrives with his new motorbike. Bambukat also stars Karamjit Anmol, Anita Devgn, Sardar Sohi, Hobby Dhaliwal, and Nirmal Rishi; it marked the feature film debut for Simi Chahal.

Rabb Da Radio 2 is a 2019 Indian-Punjabi Family-Drama film directed by Sharan Art, produced by Manpreet Johal & Ashu Munish Sahni and distributed by Omjee Star. It is a direct sequel to Rabb Da Radio (2017). The film stars Tarsem Jassar and Simi Chahal in lead roles. In the film, a newly married man returns home and is saddened to learn his extended family has fractured. The film also stars B.N. Sharma, Nirmal Rishi, Jagjeet Sandhu, and Tania in supporting roles. The film won the 67th National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi.

Roopinder Kaur Gill, better known as Roopi Gill, is an Indian model and actress who mostly works in Punjabi cinema. She rose to fame with her performance in the music video for the song "Diamond", by Gurnam Bhullar. She started her acting career with Ashke (2018), for which she received a PTC Punjabi Film Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Also, she appeared in the music video of "Stranger" song by Diljit Dosanjh. She has frequently collaborated with Sukh Sanghera for music videos and films. In 2019, she appeared in Laiye Je Yaarian, for which she received PTC Critics Award for Best Actress.

Chal Mera Putt is a 2019 Indian Punjabi-language comedy-drama Film directed by Janjot Singh and co-produced by Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, Gillz Network and Omjee Star Studios. It stars Amrinder Gill, Simi Chahal, Iftikhar Thakur, Nasir Chinyoti, Akram Udas, Rup Khatkar, Hardeep Gill and Gurshabad. The film revolves around Punjabis trying hard to make a living in a foreign land. The film will followed by a direct sequel Chal Mera Putt 2 (2020). It marked the feature film directorial debut for Janjot Singh.
