Simo Halonen is a Finnish biathlete and world champion. He received a gold medal in 4 × 7.5 km relay at the 1975 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz. [1] He received three times silver medals in the world championships with the Finnish relay team.

The biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. It is treated as a race where the contestant with the shortest total time wins. Depending on the competition, missed shots result in extra distance or time being added to the contestant's total.
The first Biathlon World Championships (BWCH) was held in 1958, with individual and team contests for men. The number of events has grown significantly over the years. Beginning in 1984, women biathletes had their own World Championships, and finally, from 1989, both genders have been participating in joint BWCHs. In 1978 the development was enhanced by the change from the large army rifle calibre to a small bore rifle, while the range to the target was reduced from 150 to 50 meters.
Lars Berger is a former Norwegian biathlete and cross-country skier.
Veikko Johannes Hakulinen was a Finnish cross country skier, triple champion in both the Olympics and world championships. He also competed in biathlon, orienteering, ski-orienteering, cross-country running and rowing at a national level.

Heikki Johannes Ikola is a Finnish former biathlete. Together with his countryman Juhani Suutarinen he became dominant in the 1970s and the early 1980s. In 1975 he became double world champion in both the 20 km and the relay. He also won the sprint title in 1977 and 1981.
Henrik Flöjt was a Finnish biathlete, world champion and Olympic medalist. He received a silver medal in 4 x 7.5 km relay at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. He became world champion in 1975 with the Finnish relay team. His brother Heikki Flöjt was also a biathlete.
Tor Svendsberget is a former Norwegian biathlete.
Ragnar Tveiten is a former Norwegian biathlete. He participated on the Norwegian team that received a gold medal in 4 × 7.5 km relay in the 1966 Biathlon World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He won a second gold medal in 4 × 7.5 km relay in the 1967 world championships in Altenberg. He received silver medals in 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1973.
Sigleif Johansen is a former Norwegian biathlete. He received a silver medal in the 20 km individual at the World Championships in 1977 in Lillehammer, and a bronze medal in Ruhpolding in 1979. He received a silver medal in the 4 × 7.5 km relay in 1978.

Eva Korpela is a former Swedish biathlete, world champion and world cup winner.
Kaisa-Leena Mäkäräinen is a Finnish world-champion and 3-time world-cup-winning biathlete, who currently competes for Kontiolahden Urheilijat. Outside sports, Mäkäräinen is currently studying to be a Physics teacher at the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu. Her team coach is Jonne Kähkönen, while Jarmo Punkkinen is her ski coach.
Tarjei Bø is a Norwegian professional biathlete. Bø debuted in the Biathlon World Cup on March 26, 2009 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, and won his first World Cup victory on December 10, 2010. In the 2010 Winter Olympics he earned his first gold medal in the 4 × 7.5 km biathlon relay. On December 10, 2010 he won the sprint race in Hochfilzen, earning his first world cup victory. He also won the following pursuit race and anchored the winning relay team. Bø is the older brother of biathlete Johannes Thingnes Bø.
