Rune Brattsveen (born 5 April 1984) is a former Norwegian biathlete.
Brattsveen was born in Dokka to mother Jorun, a librarian, and father Bjørn. He has one older sister Hege (born 1980). He went to school in Dokka for ten years, before he started at Norges toppidrettsgymnas in Lillehammer at the age of 16. He currently resides in Lillehammer.
Brattsveen has many good placings in the Biathlon World Cup. He was a member of the Norwegian elite biathlon team from the 2008–09 season to the 2009–10 season, and again in the 2012–13 season. He did not, however, have any World Cup starts in the 2012–13 season because of the TWAR virus. Further illness meant no starts in the 2013–14 season either, and after that season Brattsveen decided to retire. [1]
Ole Einar Bjørndalen is a retired Norwegian professional biathlete and coach, often referred to by the nickname, the "King of Biathlon". With 13 Winter Olympic Games medals, he is second on the list of multiple medalists behind Marit Bjørgen who has won 15 medals. He is also the most successful biathlete of all time at the Biathlon World Championships, having won 45 medals. With 95 World Cup wins, Bjørndalen is ranked first all-time for career victories on the Biathlon World Cup tour. He has won the Overall World Cup title six times, in 1997–98, in 2002–03, in 2004–05, in 2005–06, in 2007–08 and in 2008–09.

Liv Grete Skjelbreid from Hålandsdal, Fusa, near the city of Bergen in western Norway, is a former professional biathlete. On 20 March 2006, Liv Grete announced her retirement, effective at the end of the season which ended on 26 March at the Holmenkollen. She said that she was retiring because of her young daughter, Emma, her family and because she did not have the motivation to continue.

Tarjei Bø is a Norwegian professional biathlete. Awarded Olympic gold medals, World Championship gold medals and World Cup victories from 2010 to 2022. Bø debuted in the Biathlon World Cup on 26 March 2009 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. In the 2010 Winter Olympics, he earned his first gold medal in the 4 × 7.5 km biathlon relay. On 10 December 2010 he won the World Cup sprint race in Hochfilzen, his first world cup victory. He also won the following pursuit race and anchored the winning relay team. Bø is the older brother of biathlete Johannes Thingnes Bø.
Ivar Michal Ulekleiv is a former Norwegian biathlete. He was born in Dombås, and represented the club Dovre Skiskytterlag. He competed at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer.

Johannes Thingnes Bø is a Norwegian biathlete. He is the younger brother of biathlete Tarjei Bø. At the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022, they became the first siblings to have individual medals in the same biathlon event. Thingnes Bø has won the Biathlon World Cup in 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, and 2022/2023. Thingnes Bø is the third most successful male biathlete of all time in the World Cup with 78 individual World Cup victories, including victories at the Winter Olympic Games.

The 1986–87 Biathlon World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the UIPMB. The season started on 18 December 1986 in Obertauern, Austria, and ended on 15 March 1987 in Lillehammer, Norway. It was the tenth season of the Biathlon World Cup. The first round of the World Cup was originally going to be held in Hochfilzen, Austria, but the races were moved to Obertauern due to a lack of snow.
The 2015–16 Biathlon World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season began on 29 November 2015 in Östersund, Sweden, and ended on 19 March 2016 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The defending overall champions from the 2014–15 Biathlon World Cup were Martin Fourcade of France and Darya Domracheva of Belarus, but Domracheva missed the season due to illness.
