Martin Ponsiluoma (born 8 September 1995) is a Swedish biathlete who competes internationally. [1] [2]
He participated in the 2018 Winter Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics. In the later he won a silver medal in mass start.
He ended up on a World Cup podium position for first time when he came third during competitions in Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic on 20 December 2018. [3] In the 2021 World Championships, he won gold in the sprint, which was also his first world cup win. [4]
Ponsiluoma's father, Jyrki Ponsiluoma, is a Finnish-born Swedish former cross-country skier. [5] [6] He has been in a relationship with fellow biathlete Hanna Öberg since 2021. [7]

Ole Einar Bjørndalen is a retired Norwegian professional biathlete and coach, often referred to by the nickname, the "King of Biathlon". With 13 Winter Olympic Games medals, he is second on the list of multiple medalists behind Marit Bjørgen who has won 15 medals. He is also the most successful biathlete of all time at the Biathlon World Championships, having won 45 medals. With 95 World Cup wins, Bjørndalen is ranked first all-time for career victories on the Biathlon World Cup tour. He has won the Overall World Cup title six times, in 1997–98, in 2002–03, in 2004–05, in 2005–06, in 2007–08 and in 2008–09.
Magdalena "Magda" Forsberg is a Swedish former cross-country skier and biathlete. She was the dominant female biathlete from 1997 to 2002, when she retired, winning the Biathlon World Cup for six years straight. She is also a six-time world champion, a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, and holds the record for the most World Cup victories in women's biathlon.

Martin Fourcade is a retired French biathlete. He is a six-time Olympic champion, a thirteen-time World Champion and a seven-time winner of the Overall World Cup. Fourcade is the all-time biathlon record holder of overall World Cup titles with seven big crystal globes and he's also the all-time record holder of the most consecutive Major Championships titles with at least one non-team gold medal in every major championship from 2011 to 2018.
Johannes Thingnes Bø is a Norwegian biathlete who has achieved significant success in the sport. Thingnes Bø has won the Biathlon World Cup five times, in the 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, 2022/23, and 2023/24 seasons. He is the second male biathlete in history with the most individual World Cup victories, totaling 87, including victories at the Winter Olympic Games.
Stina Nilsson is a Swedish former biathlete and former cross-country skier. She is a five-time Olympic medalist and the 2018 Olympic champion in the individual sprint. In March 2020 she announced that she would switch to competing in biathlon. In April 2024, she announced her return to cross-country skiing, this time as a long-distance racer.
Mari Eder is a Finnish former biathlete and cross-country skier.
Denise Herrmann-Wick is a former German biathlete and cross-country skier. She won gold at 2022 Winter Olympics – Women's individual, won gold at Biathlon World Championships 2019 – Women's pursuit and won gold at Biathlon World Championships 2023 – Women's sprint. Previously, she has competed in FIS Cross-Country World Cup since 2009. Herrmann has won several medals at the World Cup events. In April 2016, she announced that she would switch to competing in biathlon for the following season, although in an interview in November of that year, she did not rule out competing in cross-country skiing in the future.
Laura Dahlmeier is a retired German biathlete. Dahlmeier started in her first world cup races in the 2012/13 season. In 2014, she participated in the Winter Olympics in Sochi. She won a record of five gold medals at the World Championships of 2017. In 2018 she became the first woman to win the biathlon sprint and pursuit in the same Olympics. During her career she has won a total of two golds and one bronze at the Olympics, seven gold medals, three silver medals and five bronze medals at World Championships, one overall World Cup and two discipline World Cup titles. Dahlmeier announced her retirement from competition in May 2019, at the age of 25. In October 2019, she released a children's book.
Lisa Vittozzi is an Italian biathlete. She competes in the Biathlon World Cup, Vittozzi has won a bronze medal at the Biathlon World Championships 2015 in Kontiolahti . At the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics she won the bronze medal in the Mixed relay. Vittozzi is the overall winner of the Biathlon World Cup 2023/24 season.
Anna Magnusson is a Swedish female biathlete. She represented Sweden at the 2014 and 2015 junior world championships and at the 2015 World Championships in Kontiolahti.
Quentin Fillon Maillet is a French biathlete. He is the Olympic champion in the 20 km individual and the 12.5 km pursuit at the 2022 Beijing Games. He is the first French athlete and the first biathlete to win five medals in a single edition of the Winter Games. He is the winner of the 2021–22 Biathlon World Cup.
