Bulgarian television presenter and model
Simona Krasteva is a Bulgarian television presenter, model, and journalist. She is the host and creator of the cultural program Art Detective on the Bulgarian National Television (BNT), where she conducts interviews and discussions focused on art history, contemporary art, cultural heritage, and public access to the arts.[1] Krasteva collaborates with the National Gallery and has taken part in cultural initiatives and events in partnership with museums and cultural institutions internationally.[2] Krasteva was awarded the title Super Model of Bulgaria in 2011.[3][4]
Krasteva completed both her Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Global Business and her Master's degree in Media and Digital Communications at Regent's University London. She later specialized in modern and contemporary art at Christie's Education in London, and in decorative and applied arts at Sotheby's Institute of Art in New York.
Since 2019, she has been the host of Art Detective on BNT, a weekly cultural program featuring artists, curators, museum directors, collectors and cultural figures from Bulgaria and abroad. The series explores themes related to art history, contemporary artistic practice, and the role of arts in cultural identity and public dialogue.
In addition to her work in media, Krasteva is active in art philanthropy. She organizes charity art auctions and cultural fundraising initiatives, collaborating with Sotheby's Auction House and UNICEF to support young artists and cultural education programs.[5]
In 2024, Krasteva joined the curatorial team of the Sofia Art Fair, where she contributes to the international outreach and cultural program of the event, working with both local and international galleries.[6]
Recognition
In 2021, Krasteva was included in the Forbes Bulgaria30 Under 30 list in the category "Art, Media and Culture".[7]
Krasteva was the host and curator of the charity event organized by Sotheby's International Realty Bulgaria in partnership with UNICEF,[8] which raised funds to support children in need.[9]
In 2023 Krasteva appeared on the cover of Elle Bulgaria.[10]
In December 2024, Krasteva appeared on the cover of Glamour Bulgaria and was nominated for the magazine's "Woman of the Year" award.[11]
Earlier in her career, she was awarded the title Supermodel of Bulgaria 2011.[12]
