The World Junior Figure Skating Championships, commonly referred to as "World Juniors" or "Junior Worlds", is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union in which figure skaters within a designated age range compete for the title of World Junior champion. The ISU guidelines for junior eligibility have varied throughout the years – currently, skaters must be at least 13 years old but not yet 19 before the previous 1 July, except for men competing in pair skating and ice dancing where the age maximum is 21.
The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The series was inaugurated in 1997 to complement the senior-level ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters earn qualifying points at each Junior Grand Prix event and the six highest-ranking qualifiers meet at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, which is held concurrently with the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final.
Sergei Dmitriyevich Davydov is a former competitive figure skater who represented Belarus and Russia. For Belarus, he is the 2006 Cup of China silver medalist, two-time Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and eight-time (2001–2008) Belarusian national champion. He competed at two Olympics and placed as high as 7th at the World Championships (2003) and 4th at the European Championships (2007). For Russia, he is the 1998 World Junior silver medalist. After retirement from the competitive figure skating Davydov became a coach.
Dmytro (Dmitri) Palamarchuk is a Ukrainian figure skating coach and retired pair skater. With former partner Julia Obertas, he is a two-time World Junior champion and two-time Junior Grand Prix Final champion.
Kristina Alexandrovna Oblasova is a Russian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2001 World Junior champion and the 2004 Russian national bronze medalist.
Karen Venhuizen is a Dutch former competitive figure skater. She is the 2003 Triglav Trophy champion, the 2007 International Challenge Cup champion, and a nine-time (2000–08) Dutch national champion. She qualified for the free skate at seven ISU Championships – two World and five European Championships. Her best placement, 14th, came at the 2008 Europeans.
Alla Oleksandrivna Beknazarova is a Ukrainian former competitive ice dancer. She is a three-time Ukrainian national champion — in 2001 with Yuriy Kocherzhenko and in 2007 and 2008 with Vladimir Zuev. Her best ISU Championship result, fourth, came at the 2001 World Junior Championships, competing with Kocherzhenko.
The Golden Spin of Zagreb is an annual senior-level figure skating competition held in Zagreb, Croatia. In most years, the event is part of the ISU Challenger Series. Medals are awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance.
Lee Kyu-hyun is a South Korean former competitive figure skater. He is an eight-time (1997–2003) South Korean national champion. He represented South Korea at the 1998 Winter Olympics and the 2002 Winter Olympics, placing 24th and 28th, respectively. His highest placement at an ISU Championship was 8th at the 1997 World Junior Championships. He is the brother of speed skater Lee Kyou-hyuk.
Elena Dostatni, née Khalyavina is a former competitive ice dancer. Competing for Russia as Elena Khalyavina with partner Maxim Shabalin, she is three times Russian Junior National Championship medalist she won two medals at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final and two medals at the World Junior Championships.
The 2000–01 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the fourth season of the ISU Junior Grand Prix, a series of international junior level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the Grand Prix of Figure Skating, which was for senior-level skaters. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The top skaters from the series met at the Junior Grand Prix Final.
Yamato Tamura is a Japanese figure skating coach and former competitor. As a single skater, he is a two-time Japanese national champion and represented Japan at the 1998 Winter Olympics, placing 17th.
Tamara Dorofejev is a Hungarian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2001 Hungarian national champion. She won five medals on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series, including gold in Bulgaria, and qualified for three JGP Finals. At ISU Championships, her highest placement was fourth, at the 2000 Junior Worlds, and her highest result on the senior level was ninth at the 2000 Europeans. She began skating at age three.
