Latin American music in the United States has long influenced popular music. Within the industry, "Latin music" influenced jazz, rhythm and blues, and country music, even giving rise to unique US styles of music including salsa, New Mexico, Tejano, and Western. Fusion genres such as Chicano rock, Nuyorican rap, and Chicano rap have arisen from Latin communities within the United States. The genre of Latin American music includes music from Spanish, Portuguese, and (sometimes) French-speaking countries and territories of Latin America. Although Latin American music has also been referred to as "Latin music", the American music industry defines Latin music as any release with lyrics mostly in Spanish regardless if the artist or music originates from Latin America or not.

After including some Spanish songs on her first two albums, Lopez initially became interested in recording a full-length studio album in 2004 when she recorded a song with her then-husband Marc Anthony for his ninth studio album. After releasing her fourth studio album, Rebirth (2005), Lopez started working heavily on the album with Anthony, Estéfano and Julio Reyes Copello in a period of two and a half years. Composed entirely of ballads, Como Ama una Mujer talks about love and heartbreak, being organic in its instrumentation and introspective in its lyrics.

Los Tres MTV Unplugged is an MTV Unplugged live acoustic album by Chilean rock band Los Tres, released on April 15, 1996, through Sony Music Chile. The album was the band's first live album as well as the first MTV Unplugged album ever released by a Chilean band. It was recorded on September 14, 1995, at Post Edge Studios, Miami, United States and features appearances from musicians Cuti Aste and Toño Restucci. The album contains eleven songs from their previous studio albums alongside the original song "Traje Desastre" and three cover versions of songs by Chilean musician Roberto Parra. It is the band's most commercially successful album, going platinum and selling 150,000 copies within its first three months.
La Chica Dorada is the debut solo studio album by Mexican singer Paulina Rubio, released on October 20, 1992, by EMI Capitol de México. The album was produced and directed by Miguel Blasco, and written mostly by José Ramón Flórez, Gian Pietro Felisatti and Cesar Valle. Most of the album's composition is primarily "a light and danceable pop", although it includes some elements of pop rock, new jack swing, new wave and a couple of ballads. The album's title has been stuck as Rubio's nickname throughout the Spanish-speaking world ever since.
Deantoni Parks is an American new wave/avant-garde/experimental musician. He is the co-founder, co-producer and drummer of the New York band KUDU along with artist Sylvia Black, and one half of the writing duo We Are Dark Angels alongside Nicci Kasper, also a member of KUDU. Parks was a member of progressive rock band the Mars Volta and a member of the alternative rock act Bosnian Rainbows.
20 años is the seventh studio album recorded by Mexican singer Luis Miguel, It was released by WEA Latina on May 18, 1990. The album was produced by Spanish singer-songwriter, composer and record producer Juan Carlos Calderón, who had worked on the two previous albums by Luis Miguel, and was a massive success across Latin-America, Spain, and with Hispanic listeners in the United States. Almost all the tracks of the album were played on the radio, but the songs officially issued as singles are "Tengo Todo Excepto A Tí", "Entrégate", "Amante del Amor", "Hoy el aire huele a ti", "Más allá de todo" and "Será que no me amas".

Sinergia is a Chilean band that plays experimental rock with influences from alternative metal, a style that themselves define as "birdy metal" by the incorporation of "pajaronas" (birdy) lyrics; which is Chilean slang referring to people that are a bit vague or slow to understand. Sinergia mixes a strong rock sound with an electronic bass, funk bass lines, and special sounds for each song.

Nicolás Javier López Fernández is a Chilean film director, producer and screenwriter. He is known for comedies such as Promedio Rojo (2004), the Qué pena trilogy (2010-2012), and the Paz Bascuñán vehicles Sin filtro (2016) and No estoy loca (2018). In June 2018, a few months after López begun working on a film project about the MeToo movement, the magazine Sábado of El Mercurio published a report where various actresses made claims of sexual and workplace abuses against him. In an ensuing trial, López was in 2022 found guilty of two sexual abuse charges and sentenced to five years and one day in prison.
Hasta la Raíz is the fifth studio album by Mexican recording artist Natalia Lafourcade, released on March 17, 2015, through Sony Music Mexico. After the success of her previous album, Mujer Divina – Homenaje a Agustín Lara, a tribute to Mexican singer-songwriter Agustín Lara, Lafourcade decided to record an album with original recordings. Lafourcade spent three years writing the songs and searching for inspiration in different cities, resulting in songs that express very personal feelings regarding love. The record was produced by Lafourcade, with the assistance of Argentinian musician Cachorro López and Mexican artist Leonel García.

It was filmed at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, on November 11, 2018 during their world tour Gira 100 años contigo. It features guest appearances from American singer Prince Royce on "100 Años", musician Miguel Bosé on "Si Tu No Vuelves" and Spanish singer Melendi on "Destino o Casualidad".
