Singaperumal Koil is a satellite town city of Chennai located between Chengalpattu and Maraimalai Nagar in Chengalpattu district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a part of the area Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) and a vital locality in Chennai Metropolitan Area.
A famous temple to Narasimha, the Padalathri Narasimhar Temple is situated in Singaperumal Koil. It is located on a small hillock off the GST road between Chennai and Chengalpattu. It is a part of Chennai Urban Agglomeration.
The famous twin temples of Lord Siva known as Marundeswarar and Kachabeswarar are also present in Thirukachur, which is located little north-westerly to Singaperumal Koil town. Together they are considered one of the famed Paadal Petra Sthalams ("Shrines on which hymns were sung") of Thondai Naadu.
The neighborhood is served by the Singaperumal Koil railway station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network.

It is famous for its ancient Shiva temple, namely Aatcheeswara swamy Temple which is one of the Devaram temples. Acharapakkam town is about 96 km south-west from Chennai city, which is now included with the Chennai Metropolitan Area limits. Aatcheeswarar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva located near Acharapakkam, Tamil Nadu, and India. The temple is praised in the hymns of Saint Tirugnanasambandar. It is believed that Arulmigu Aatcheeswarar Temple is associated with the legend of Tripurasamhaaram. Legends state that when Lord Shiva was travelling in his chariot to destroy the Tripurams, the axle of the chariot broke in this village into two pieces. Lord Shiva recollected that he didn't pray to Lord Ganesha before setting out for travel.

Padalathri Narasimhar Temple or Narasimhar Temple is dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu (Narasimha) located in Singaperumal Koil, near Chennai City, in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Constructed as rock-cut architecture, dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Narasimhar, and his consort Lakshmi as Ahobilavalli, the temple was built by the Pallavas during the 8th century. Earlier in Kanchipuram district, it is now under Chengalpattu district. The temple is Classified one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition.
