A military parade is a formation of soldiers whose movement is restricted by close-order manoeuvering known as drilling or marching. The military parade is now almost entirely ceremonial, though soldiers from time immemorial up until the late 19th century fought in formation. Massed parades may also hold a role for propaganda purposes, being used to exhibit the apparent military strength of a country.
Many nations around the world observe some kind of Armed Forces Day to honor their military forces. This day is not to be confused with Veterans Day or Memorial Day.

The Chingay Parade is an annual street parade held in Malaysia and Singapore usually in celebration with the birthdays of the Chinese deities or in some cases the procession of the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin) as part of the Chinese New Year festivities. The term Chingay itself originated from the Chinese communities of Southeast Asia, which is a phonetic equivalent of both the Chinese words "真藝" (zhēnyì) which means "true art" in the Penang version, and "妝藝" (zhuāngyì) which means "a decorated miniature stage" or float in the Singapore version. PAYM has been an active contributor to chingay in Singapore. Today, the parade is celebrated by all communities of both Malaysia and Singapore.

The Singapore Armed Forces Parachute Team (SAFPT), also known as the Red Lions is best known for its free-fall displays at the annual National Day Parade held in Singapore since its first appearance in 1989 as a formalised team, although members of the Singapore Commandos Formation had put on sporadic displays since the 1970s. Primarily responsible for organising display jumps and representing the Singapore Armed Forces in competitions, the team adopted the name "Red Lions" in 1996 as part of its identity. In 2014, Third Warrant Officer Shirley Ng became the first female Red Lion parachutist to jump at the National Day Parade in Singapore. The Red Lions did not perform during NDP 2015 due to bad weather, and security reasons parachuting through the national stadium in NDP 2016 prevented them from doing so. The Red Lions made their latest appearance in NDP 2022, held at The Float.
The Singapore Armed Forces Band form the musical arm of the Singapore Armed Forces. Playing a vital role in ceremonial parades and ceremonies, the SAF Band provides musical support for parades such as the National Day Parade, SAF Day Parade, Passing Out Parades, Change of Command Parades and other military duties. Other than discharging ceremonial duties, the SAF Band also presents public concerts that aim to bring a wide range of music to the populace. They also seek to build up the band's music repertoire into an extensive array of styles and variety.
The Float at Marina Bay, stylised as The Float@Marina Bay and also known as the Marina Bay Floating Platform, is a multi-purpose outdoor venue at the Downtown Core area of Marina Bay, Singapore. The venue consists of a 120 by 83 m steel platform in the Marina Reservoir, and a 27,000-seat grandstand along the shore. The floating platform can bear up to 1,070 tonnes, equivalent to the total weight of 9,000 people, 200 tonnes of stage props and three 30-tonne military vehicles.

The SAF Day Parade is an annual military parade and ceremony of the Singapore Armed Forces held on 1 July in commemoration of the founding of the SAF. It is the second military parade in seniority to be held in Singapore next to the Singapore National Day Parade in August. It is usually held at the SAFTI Military Institute in Jurong West while in the presence of the President of Singapore in their position as commander-in-chief. Salutes are also taken by the Prime Minister of Singapore, and the Chief of Defence Force.
