The Singapore National Day Parade 2018, also known as NDP 2018, is a national parade and ceremony that held on 9 August 2018 in commemoration of Singapore's 53rd year of independence. It located at The Float at Marina Bay. [1] It is the first National Day Parade for President Halimah Yacob.

The NDP song is based on the 1987 NDP song, We Are Singapore, with an update by local singer Charlie Lim. [2] It is also the 3rd time in history that an NDP song is reused the second time, following This is Home Truly (1998) and We Will Get There (2002) that were reused respectively in 2004 and 2014.

For the first time at the National Day parade, combat divers from the Republic of Singapore Navy will perform free-fall water jump alongside the Singapore Army's Red Lions. [3] The Red Lions will jump at a record height of 3800m, the highest ever for an NDP and will be in wingsuits for the first time. [4]

Home (家), sung by Kit Chan, was composed by Dick Lee in 1998 as the first in a series of yearly songs commissioned for Singapore's National Day Parade, together with the other NDP song that year titled as City For The world. It has English and Chinese versions, both sung by Kit. In 2004, it was remixed for three child soloists, one of whom was young actress and singer Shanice Elizabeth Nathan. The children were accompanied by a girls' choir and the piece was reused as the National Day song for 2004. In 2010, Kit performed the song at the 2010 National Day Parade. The song was well received, being considered one of the best National Day Songs, and is still being used in National Day Parades as of 2020.

The Singapore Armed Forces Parachute Team (SAFPT) aka The Red Lions are best known for its free-fall displays at the annual National Day Parade held in Singapore since its first appearance in 1989 as a formalised team, although members of the Singapore Commandos Formation had put on sporadic displays since the 1970s. Primarily responsible for organising display jumps and representing the Singapore Armed Forces in competitions, the team adopted the name Red Lions in 1996 as part of its team identity. In 2014, Third Warrant Officer Shirley Ng became the first female Red Lion parachutist to jump at the National Day Parade in Singapore. They made their latest appearance at NDP 2020 during the pre-parade segment after bad weather during NDP 2015 and security reasons parachuting through the national stadium in NDP 2016 prevented them from doing so.

The Float @ Marina Bay Floating stage in Marina Bay, Singapore

The Float at Marina Bay, stylised as The Float@Marina Bay and also known as the Marina Bay Floating Platform, was a multi-purpose outdoor venue at the Downtown Core area of Marina Bay, Singapore. The venue consists of a 120 by 83 m steel platform in the Marina Reservoir, and a 27,000-seat grandstand along the shore. The floating platform can bear up to 1,070 tonnes, equivalent to the total weight of 9,000 people, 200 tonnes of stage props and three 30-tonne military vehicles.

Nathaniel Hartono Xiang, popularly known as Nathan Hartono is an Indonesian Singaporean singer-songwriter and actor. Nathan made his debut as a singer after he won the Teenage Icon singing competition in 2005 and released his debut album, LET ME SING! Life, Love and All That Jazz in 2006. Nathan also ventured into acting and starred in his first television series, Halfworlds in 2015. As the first runner-up of the first season of Sing! China, as of January 2017 he also works with the committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) to enrich the learning of the Chinese language among Singapore students. Hartono became the first naturalised citizen to sing for Singapore's National Day Parade (NDP) theme song in 2020.

"Love at First Light" is a song by Singaporean artiste, Olivia Ong and child actress, Natanya Tan. Written by Paul Tan and composed by Iskandar Ismail, it was officially commissioned as the official theme song to the 2012 national day parade of Singapore, together with the 1995 National Day Parade song, My People, My Home which was reused for National Day in 2012. On the 9 August, the song was performed twice. Once by the combined school-choir and later by the duo themselves in a techno pop version. The techno pop version was incorporated into a medley, which includes song like "Stand Up For Singapore", "One People, One Nation, One Singapore", "Count On Me Singapore", "Home" and "We Are Singapore". The song's title is a play on the phrase, "Love at first sight".

The Singapore National Day Parade 2017, also known as NDP 2017, is a national parade and ceremony that held on 9 August 2017 in commemoration of Singapore's 52nd year of independence. It located at The Float at Marina Bay, also the 10th anniversary of the venue which was first built for the NDP Celebrations in 2007. As the life span for the floating venue is 10 years, this could possibly be the final edition of the NDP that held at the Float. likewise it was also the commemoration of NS50 which marks 50 years of National Service in Singapore since 1967 and also was the last National Day Parade for former President Tony Tan Keng Yam who was ending his 6-year term as the 7th President of Singapore.
