Sinne Eeg (born 1 September 1977 in Lemvig, Denmark) is a Danish jazz vocalist and composer.

Eeg has received a number of recognitions and positive reviews both nationally [1] and internationally, [2] [3] and is considered among the best female jazz vocalists currently in Scandinavia. [4] [5] She has composed many of her own songs, and although she usually sings in English, she has also performed and recorded songs in Danish.

Eeg has won the Danish Music Awards prize in the category Best Danish Vocal Jazz Album of the Year four times: in 2007, 2010, 2014 and 2015, for her albums Waiting for Dawn, Don't Be So Blue, Face the Music, and Eeg - Fonnesbæk. [6] [7] She also received the Ben Webster Prize in 2014. The Webster Foundation describes her as "a true jazz singer, who both shows sensitivity, improvisational skills, maturity, broad range and timing in her singing." [8]

Background

Eeg was admitted at the Academy of Music in Esbjerg [9] in 1997; she graduated in 2003. [10] As part of her musical studies she has studied with American singer Janet Lawson in New York City. [11]

Eeg has toured Europe, Japan, China and the United States. [12] On 26 January 2012 she sang in Brussels accompanied by the Danish Radio Big Band at the celebration for the beginning of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. In Denmark she regularly performs at the jazz venue of La Fontaine in Copenhagen. [11] [13]

Aarhus Jazz Festival is an eight-day jazz festival in Aarhus, Denmark. It is held every year in July, August or September. The festival performs at the Aarhus Concert Hall, as well as many different venues across the city. Many concerts are played outdoors in the public space and are for free. Aarhus Jazz Festival has been awarded with the European Effe Label in 2017–2018. The 2018 festival was held from 14 to 21 July and the 2019 festival takes place from 13 to 20 July.

Love Shop is a Danish pop rock band. The band was formed in 1986 by vocalist/songwriter Jens Unmack and guitarist/producer Hilmer Hassig, later joined by harmonicist Henrik Hall. They found great success in Denmark with their debut album 1990, which went on to win the Danish Grammy for Pop Album of the Year, and are well known for songs such as "En nat bliver det sommer", "Love Goes On Forever" and "Copenhagen Dreaming". The 1997 album Go! is widely considered their magnum opus.

Charlotte Fenger, known by the stage name Søs Fenger, is a Danish vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. Since the mid 1980s she has been one of the most successful names in Danish music. She has released numerous albums, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with other groups.
