The Telugu Desam Party is an Indian regional political party primarily active in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It was founded by Telugu matinée idol N. T. Rama Rao (NTR) on 29 March 1982 and has focused on supporting Telugu people. The party has won a five-time majority in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and has emerged as the most successful political outfit in the state's history. It is currently the ruling party in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Siddipet is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. It is a municipality and serves as the headquarters of the Siddipet district. It is located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) north of the state capital,Hyderabad,and 92 kilometres (57 mi) from Warangal. Marri Chenna Reddy was an Indian politician active in several states. He was the 6th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1978 to 1980 and from 1989 to 1990. He also served as the governor of Uttar Pradesh (1974–1977),governor of Punjab (1982–1983),governor of Rajasthan from February 1992 to May 1993,and governor of Tamil Nadu from 1993 until his death. He was a leader of Indian National Congress Party.
