The Sixth Federal Electoral District of Chihuahua(VI Distrito Electoral Federal de Chihuahua) is one of the 300 Electoral Districts into which Mexico is divided for the purpose of elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies and one of nine such districts in the state of Chihuahua.

Contents

It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress for each three-year legislative period, by means of the first past the post system.

District territory

Under the 2005 districting scheme, the district covers the western portion of the Chihuahua Municipality, including approximately one-half of the city of Chihuahua. The other half of the city, and the rest of the municipality, is covered by the Eighth District.

The district's head town (cabecera distrital), where results from individual polling stations are gathered together and collated, is the state capital, the city of Chihuahua.

Previous districting schemes

2005-2017 district

Between 2005 and 2017 the district covers the western portion of the Chihuahua Municipality, including approximately one-half of the city of Chihuahua. [1]

1996–2005 district

Between 1996 and 2005, the district covered the northern part of Chihuahua Municipality; i.e., it included the part of the city/municipality north of the Río Chuviscar.

1979–1996 district

Between 1979 and 1996, the Sixth District was located in the eastern central part of the state, centred on the city of Camargo. [2]

  1. En las elecciones del 1 de agosto de 1920, Adolfo Valles Baca resultó ganador en los comicios en el VI Distrito, sin embargo, el 3 de diciembre de 1920, la Cámara de Diputados, erigida en Colegio Electoral desechó el nombramiento de Valles como diputado, en favor de Velázquez López. [3] [4]
  2. Fernando Baeza Meléndez dejó el cargo de diputado al ser postulado candidato y luego electo Gobernador de Chihuahua.
  3. Falleció en el ejercicio del cargo, el 23 de febrero de 1990.
  4. Dejó el cargo para ser primeramente candidato del PRI a Gobernador de Chihuahua y posteriormente al ganar la elección y asumir el cargo.
  5. Solicitó licencia al cargo de diputado para ocupar un cargo en la Secretaría de Contraloría y Desarrollo Administrativo.

2013 Argentine legislative election

Legislative elections were held in Argentina on 27 October 2013. Open primary elections (PASO) were previously held on 11 August 2013 to determine eligible party lists for the general election. As in 2011 – when such primaries were held for the first time – each party list had to reach a 1.5% threshold at the provincial level in order to proceed to the 27 October polls.

Vlado Mirosevic

Quirino Ordaz Coppel Mexico lawyer and politician (born 1962)

Quirino Ordaz Coppel is a Mexican lawyer and politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He is currently serving as the Governor of the state of Sinaloa since January 2017. He previously served as a federal deputy for the VIII Federal Electoral District of Sinaloa from August 29, 2015, to March 1, 2016.

On December 24, 2018, just ten days into her term as Governor of Puebla, Martha Erika Alonso Hidalgo and her husband, Senator Rafael Moreno Valle Rosas, died in a helicopter crash while en route from Puebla to Mexico City. The death of the Governor required the calling of a special gubernatorial election for 2 June 2019. This election was made simultaneous with special elections from five municipalities in the state whose initial 2018 elections had been nullified.

Guadalupe Murguía Gutiérrez Mexican lawyer and politician

María Guadalupe Murguía Gutiérrez is a Mexican lawyer and politician of the National Action Party (PAN). She is a national senator for the state of Querétaro. She has held several public positions in Querétaro state government, and was the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico from March to September 2017.

General elections are scheduled to be held in Chile in 2021 to elect the President and National Congress.

Juan Pablo Guanipa

Juan Pablo Isidoro Guanipa Villalobos is a Venezuelan lawyer and politician who currently serves as deputy and First Vice President of the National Assembly, leader of the Justice First political party and former governor of Zulia. He was a presidential candidate in the 2018 elections until boycott. Guanipa is the regional coordinator of the Justice First party in Zulia and chairs the Maracaibo Posible foundation.
