The Sixth Federal Electoral District of Coahuila(VI Distrito Electoral Federal de Coahuila) is one of the 300 Electoral Districts into which Mexico is divided for the purpose of elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies and one of seven such districts in the state of Coahuila.

The Chamber of Deputies is the lower house of the Congress of the Union, the bicameral legislature of Mexico. The other chamber is the Senate. The structure and responsibilities of both chambers of Congress are defined in Articles 50 to 70 of the current constitution.
Coahuila, formally Coahuila de Zaragoza, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Coahuila de Zaragoza, is one of the 31 states which, along with Mexico City, compose the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico.
It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress for each three-year legislative period, by means of the first past the post system.

The district's head town (cabecera distrital), where results from individual polling stations are gathered together and collated, is the city of Torreón.
Torreón is a city and seat of Torreón Municipality in the Mexican state of Coahuila. As of 2015, the city's population was 679,288. The Metropolitan population as of 2015 was 1,497,734, making it the ninth-biggest metropolitan area in the country and the largest Metropolitan area in the state of Coahuila, as well as one of Mexico's most important economic and industrial centers. The cities of Torreón, Gómez Palacio, Lerdo, Matamoros, Francisco I. Madero, San Pedro, Bermejillo, and Tlahualilo form the area of La Laguna or the Comarca Lagunera, a basin within the Chihuahuan Desert.

Francisco José Madero González was a Mexican politician, accountant, and member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). Madero served as the 54th Municipal President, or Mayor, of Torreón from 1976 to 1978 and the Governor of the Mexican state of Coahuila in 1981.
