Skateboarding at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Qualification

There were 80 quota spots available for skateboarding at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Each NOC could obtain a maximum of 3 spots in each event (total 12 maximum across the 4 events). Each event had 20 athletes competing: 3 from the World Championships, 16 from world rankings, and 1 from the host, Japan. [1] The full list of skaters qualified was announced on 9 June 2021. [2]

Keegan Palmer is an Australian and American goofy-footed professional skateboarder specialising in park skating. He turned professional at the age of 14. Palmer has been sponsored by Nike SB, Primitive, Oakley, Independent, Bones Wheels, Bronson Speed Co., Mob, and Boost Mobile. Palmer has been ranked ranked #7 in the World Skate male park rankings.

Matt Berger is a Canadian skateboarder, competing in the street discipline. Berger currently resides in Huntington beach, California.

Momiji Nishiya is a Japanese skateboarder. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she won the first ever gold medal in the women's street competition. Winning at the age of 13, she is the youngest person ever to win a gold medal for Japan, and the third youngest after Marjorie Gestring and Klaus Zerta to ever win an event at the Summer Olympics.

The following is the qualification system and qualified countries for the Roller sports at the 2023 Pan American Games competition which will be held in Santiago, Chile.

This article details the qualifying phase for skateboarding at the 2024 Summer Olympics. The competition at these Games will comprise a total of 88 athletes coming from their respective NOCs, an increment of ten percent from the Tokyo 2020 roster size (80). Each NOC can enter a maximum of twelve skateboarders in both the street and park events. Host country France reserves four quota places with one for each event, while the same amount is entitled to the eligible NOCs interested to have their skateboarders compete for Paris 2024 through a Tripartite Commission Invitation. To be registered for a spot granted by the Universality rules, the athlete must finish within the top 50 of his or her respective skateboarding event in the Olympic World Skateboarding Rankings (OWSR) at the end of the qualification period.
