Smart Crew is a supergroup and art collective originating from Queens, NY, that was formed by SYCO13, MEY (Meyhem Lauren) and LUK in 1997. Throughout the years, the crew has acquired members and has become a collective of various artists including DCEVE, KORN (Jeffrey Vanchiro, best known as Jeffrey Gamblero), [1] Action Bronson, and SNOEMAN. Their crew logo consists of an Old English style "S" with the image of a graduation cap on top.
They are known for their public art on trucks, walls and stickers seen all over the world. The crew is also known for their territorial wars in New York with the street artist Banksy. [2] [3]
Smart Crew was interviewed by the Art of Rolling Magazine [4] and Bombin Magazine. [5] In 2014, Smart Crew worked with Sixty Soho and Animal New York on a demolition party and destroyed the hotel lobby as an art installation. [6] They have also contributed to Mass Appeal , the book Autograf: New York City's Graffiti Writers by Peter Sutherland ( ISBN 1-57687-203-3), the BET Hip Hop Awards, and the DKNY 2014 Spring line. The crew is also responsible for the "Chinatown" Mural in New York City [7] located at 1 Allen Street. Smart Crew has also exhibited with Fool's Gold in December 2013 at their Brooklyn flagship store. [8]
Sticker art is a form of street art in which an image or message is publicly displayed using stickers. These stickers may promote a political agenda, comment on a policy or issue, or comprise a subcategory of graffiti.
Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based street artist, political activist and film director whose real name and identity remain unconfirmed and the subject of speculation. Active since the 1990s, his satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti executed in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have appeared on streets, walls and bridges throughout the world. Banksy's work grew out of the Bristol underground scene, which involved collaborations between artists and musicians. Banksy says that he was inspired by 3D, a graffiti artist and founding member of the musical group Massive Attack.
1134NYC was an art collective based in Brooklyn, New York City. The 1134nyc bomb logo was created by Mint and Hek. The name 1134 was chosen due to some members from the collective being in a graffiti crew titled 1134. The NYC was added to the logo in order to separate the newly formed art collective from the graffiti crew. It began as a collective of artists and designers including MINT&SERF (MIRF), GOAL, HEILS, BOO, CH, CECS, VYELS, KEVS and OUCH (RIP). Over the years more artists and musicians joined and collaborated with 1134NYC on different art related projects in galleries, clubs and streets. The logo has appeared on a plethora of art object; shirts, street signs, stickers and canvases. 1134NYC has also been referenced in China Doll, a Team Facelift song off Manhattan album to be released on Duck Down records.

According to the 2010 Banksy-directed film Exit Through the Gift Shop, Guetta was a proprietor of a used clothing store, and amateur videographer who was first introduced to street art by his cousin, the street artist Invader, and who filmed street artists through the 2000s and became an artist in his own right in a matter of weeks after an off-hand suggestion from Banksy.

The Houston Bowery Wall, also known simply as the Bowery Wall, is a famous mural wall currently owned and curated by Goldman Properties., on the Lower East Side area of Manhattan, New York City. The concrete wall, on Houston St and the intersection of the Bowery, had been a popular graffiti spot in the early 1980s, when street artist Keith Haring created a large mural on it in 1982. The wall was acquired by Goldman Properties in 1984. Tony Goldman began using the wall for advertisements, though they were regularly vandalized. The wall once again become an art spot in 2008, when Goldman gave curator Jeffrey Deitch the right to commission large murals for the wall, with new pieces added every 6-12 months.
