"Smile" is a song based on an instrumental theme used in the soundtrack for Charlie Chaplin's 1936 film Modern Times. Chaplin credited himself with the music, actually composed by David Raksin and inspired by Puccini's Tosca. John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons added the lyrics and title in 1954. In the lyrics, based on lines and themes from the film, the singer is telling the listener to cheer up and that there is always a bright tomorrow, just as long as they smile.
"Twilight Zone" is a song recorded by the Dutch band 2 Unlimited.It was the second single released in January 1992. The UK release of the single was the first 2 Unlimited single to include the vocals of Anita Doth as they had not been featured on their debut hit "Get Ready for This". However, Ray Slijngaard's raps were once again removed. The instrumental "Rave" version of the track sounds different from the original "Not Enough" version, with a more Hi-NRG style with more bass and added cowbells. The single scored chart success in many European countries and topped the chart in the Netherlands. Twilight Zone was the second single in a row to just miss out on the top spot in the UK again peaking at number 2. It was 2 Unlimited's biggest hit on the U.S. Dance chart reaching number 5.

The song was reissued a year later, in 1995, in a new version entitled "Take Away the Colour ", however, this version is performed by Alexia. The first version was more successful, reaching the top 20 in Belgium, Austria and Sweden. The B-side featuring on the various formats of the 1995 release is a megamix composed by ICE MC's hit single "Think about the Way", "It's a Rainy Day" and "Take Away the Colour". This megamix was the next single in France and was only released in this country.
