"Snatch Game" is the fifth episode of the first season of the Canadian reality competition television series Canada's Drag Race , which aired on July 30, 2020 on the television network Crave. [1] The episode sees contestants improving celebrity impersonations while playing the Snatch Game. Mary Walsh is the guest host, who is joined by regular panelists Brooke Lynn Hytes, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Stacey McKenzie. [2]

Episode

For the mini-challenge the queens read each other, inspired by the documentary Paris is Burning. Lemon wins the challenge. [3]

For the maxi challenge the queens compete in the annual Snatch Game, where they must improvise as celebrity characters on a panel, a parody of Match Game . Snatch Game players are Scottish television personalities Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan. Prior to playing the Snatch Game the queens walk the "sh-etalk" red carpet, a parody of Etalk, where they are interviewed in character by Canada's Squirrelfriend Traci Melchor. [2] [3]

On the runway regular panelists Brooke Lynn Hytes, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, and Stacey McKenzie are joined by guest host Mary Walsh. The runway theme is 'Night of 1000 Célines', where the queens pay tribute to Canadian singer Céline Dion by recreating some of her notable outfits. BOA does the 2019 Met Gala, Ilona Verley the Céline Dion Collection launch, Jimbo and Scarlett BoBo both do looks from 2019 Paris Fashion Week, Kiara the Courage album release party, Lemon the 1998 Academy Awards red carpet, Priyanka her 1994 wedding dress and the 2016 Billboard Music Awards red carpet, and Rita Baga does her Switzerland Eurovision 1988 look and an outfit from the Tournée Incognito Tour. Rita Baga also references the "Love Can Move Mountains" music video. [3] [5] Jimbo, Lemon, and Rita Baga are declared the best performers of the week, with BOA, Kiara, and Priyanka being the worst. Jimbo is declared the winner of the challenge and wins a $1,000 gift card to LAGconcepts, with Lemon, Rita Baga, and BOA being safe. Kiara and Priyanka are up for elimination and lip sync to "I Drove All Night" by Céline Dion. Priyanka wins the lip sync and Kiara is eliminated. [2]
