The snooker major tournaments, often referred to simply as "the majors", are the most prestigious tournaments in snooker.
Traditionally, the majors consisted of the three Triple Crown tournaments: the World Snooker Championship (first held in 1927 and staged as a knockout tournament continuously since 1969), the invitational Masters (held annually since 1975), and the UK Championship (held annually since 1977).
In 2024, the World Snooker Tour (WST) announced the addition of the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters as snooker's "fourth major". [1]
