The Wuhan Open is a professional ranking snooker tournament. The reigning champion is Judd Trump.
The event was introduced in the 2023/2024 season. It was the first ranking snooker competition held in mainland China since the 2019 World Open, after a hiatus of tournaments in China due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [1] The inaugural 2023 edition ran from 9 to 15 October in Wuhan, China, and was won by Judd Trump, who defeated Ali Carter 10–7 in the final. [2]

Throughout his career, he has won 14 major ranking titles, including three UK Championships. He has twice reached the final of the Masters, winning once in 2011. The Northern Ireland Open is a professional ranking snooker tournament held in Belfast as part of the four-event Home Nations Series. Kyren James Wilson is an English professional snooker player from Kettering. He is a six-time ranking event winner and the current world champion, having won the 2024 World Snooker Championship. A prolific break-builder, Wilson has compiled more than 450 century breaks including five maximum breaks. He attained his highest world ranking of third in 2024.

The 2019 World Open was a professional snooker tournament that took place between 28 October and 3 November 2019 at the Yushan Sport Centre in Yushan, China. This was the 2019 edition of the World Open, which was first held in 1982. It was the fifth ranking event of the 2019–20 season and the third tournament of the season to be held in China. It would also be the last professional snooker tournament held in mainland China for almost four years, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event featured a prize fund of £772,000 with the winner receiving £150,000.
Si Jiahui is a Chinese professional snooker player. After training at the Wiraka Billiard Academy in Foshan, he moved to the United Kingdom aged 16 and earned a two-year tour card through the 2019 Q School for the 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons. He lost his tour card after ending the 2020–21 season outside the top 64 in the world rankings, and competed as an amateur during the 2021–22 season, during which he defeated Shaun Murphy 6–5 in the first round of the 2021 UK Championship. The 2023 Wuhan Open was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 9 to 15 October 2023 at the Wuhan Gymnasium in Wuhan, China. The fifth ranking event of the 2023–24 season, it followed the 2023 English Open and preceded the 2023 Northern Ireland Open. The inaugural edition of the Wuhan Open, it was the second professional snooker tournament and the first ranking event held in mainland China since the 2019 World Open, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was broadcast domestically in China by CCTV-5 and in Europe by Eurosport and Discovery+. It was available from Matchroom Sport in all other territories. The winner received £140,000 from a total prize fund of £700,000.
