Hell Girl, also known as Jigoku Shōjo: Girl from Hell, is a Japanese anime series conceptualized by Hiroshi Watanabe and produced by SKY Perfect Well Think, Tokyo MX, Wakasa Seikatsu, Fujishoji, Aniplex and Studio Deen. It is directed by Watanabe and Takahiro Omori, with Kenichi Kanemaki handling series composition, Mariko Oka designing the characters and Yasuharu Takanashi, Hiromi Mizutani and Kenji Fujisawa composing the music. The series focuses on the existence of a supernatural system that allows people to take revenge by having other people sent to Hell via the services of the mysterious title character and her assistants who implement this system. Revenge, injustice, hatred, and the nature of human emotions are common themes throughout the series.

Haruka Shimotsuki is a Japanese singer and dōjin music composer known for her vocal themes in the Atelier Iris and Ar tonelico series. Shimotsuki's original music mainly consists of ethnic and fantasy music, and most of her songs are soft in tone.

It became the theme song of the Japanese television program "Super TV". 50,000 limited edition copies were sold which included a picture book drawn by Otsuka. Supercell is an 11-member Japanese pop band led by musician and songwriter Ryo, which formed in 2007 as a dōjin music band. The other 10 members are artists and designers who provide illustrations in album booklets and music videos. Supercell started out by making use of the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid singing synthesizer to produce vocals for songs submitted to the Nico Nico Douga video sharing website. The popularity of the songs led the band to release their independent self-titled album Supercell (2008). Supercell later signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan and had a professional release of their Supercell album in March 2009, which was updated with more songs.

The series was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from October 2016 to April 2020, and has been compiled into thirteen tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Connect aired from April to June 2019.
"Uchiage Hanabi" is a song by Daoko and Kenshi Yonezu released in August 2017. "Uchiage Hanabi" means "launching fireworks". The song is used for the anime film Fireworks and the album Thank You Blue. There are two solo versions, Yonezu's solo version released for Bootleg for minimalist rearrangement, and Daoko's solo version for Shiteki Ryoko. It ranked number one in Billboard Japan Hot Animation for 25 weeks. It won Song of the Year of Space Shower Music Awards in 2018.
Karin Takahashi is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Kanagawa Prefecture who is affiliated with Aoni Production. After winning an audition in 2012, she began her entertainment activities in 2013 with the release of the song "Kimi to Futari" which she sang with Yurika Endō. That same year, she played her first role as Yui Natsukawa in the anime television series Ace of Diamond. She is also known for her roles as Nono Morikubo in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Sasame Mitsukuri in Ongaku Shōjo, and Haru Soramachi in Between the Sky and Sea. From 2013 to 2016, she was a member of the music group Trefle.
Kageki Shojo!! is a Japanese manga series by Kumiko Saiki. It was serialized as Kageki Shojo! in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Jump X from 2012 to 2014 and was collected in two tankōbon volumes. It was later re-released as Kageki Shojo!! Season Zero in a single tankōbon volume by Hakusensha in March 2019. A sequel manga by Saiki has been serialized in Hakusensha's josei manga magazine Melody since 2015. It has been collected in twelve tankōbon volumes. The re-release and the sequel are licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. An anime television series adaptation produced by Pine Jam aired from July to September 2021.
