"I Just Wanna Know" was released as the lead single from Cruz's debut studio album Departure (2008). The single was released on 4 November 2006, via digital download, and two days later physically. It charted on the UK Singles Chart at #29. Despite having a lower peak position than his second single, "Moving On", "I Just Wanna Know" managed six weeks inside the UK top 75 compared to the four weeks "Moving On" charted for. The single is the only of Cruz's releases to be made available on two physical single formats. The B-side, "Backseat Love", features rapper Erick Sermon.

Replay is the debut studio album by British Virgin Islands R&B recording artist Iyaz, released in Ireland on 4 June 2010. The album was executively produced by Iyaz's label boss J. R. Rotem and features a special guest appearance from American rapper Flo Rida. It was originally to be titled My Life as a request by Iyaz but was retitled and postponed, in order not to compete with The Ready Set's debut album I'm Alive, I'm Dreaming, also released by Rotem. The album's lead single "Replay" was released on 11 August 2009. The album's second single "Solo" was released on 8 February 2010. "So Big" was released as the album's third single on 21 June 2010.

The song's musical composition was inspired by Diddy's experiences in Ibiza night clubs; its lyrics focus around sex and money. Three official remixes were released alongside the main single: the Official Remix with Rick Ross & Nicki Minaj, the "Grime Remix" with Skepta, and a "Team UK remix" with Tinchy Stryder and Tinie Tempah. Critics noted the track as one of the better songs from Last Train to Paris, particularly for Danja's production, but criticized the lyrics for being superficial and for lacking substance.

Secret Love was initially set to be released by itself on 3 May 2010, however, after being postponed from a later release, was cancelled. "I Am Who I Am" was originally written and recorded by British indie band Ben's Brother for their 2007 album, Beta Male Fairytales. The music video for Secret Love was filmed in LA in March 2010. The video premiered in April 2010. In the UK, the single debuted at #33 in its first week and fell to #69 in its second week, making it Ryan's third consecutive single to miss the top twenty. The single spent only two weeks inside the UK Top 100 Singles Chart.

"Higher" is the fifth single from English singer-songwriter Taio Cruz's second studio album, Rokstarr. It was written and produced by Cruz and Sandy Vee, and was released on 26 November 2010. This song was originally written for Australian singer Kylie Minogue's album Aphrodite, but plans fell through. However, Cruz and Minogue recorded a version of the song for the European release, while American rapper Travie McCoy recorded guest raps for the American release. The Brazilian and United Kingdom versions have parts of McCoy's rap mixed into the Minogue version. The version on Cruz's albums feature a solo vocal by Cruz with no guest vocalist and an edited version of the solo version was added to Radio Disney's playlist.
