It peaked at #24 on the Billboard charts. [2] It was nominated for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards. [3]

Critical reception

The Chicago Tribune praised the album, writing: "So Cool may be intimate and celebratory, but it isn't soft; the album comes across as fun, accomplished and smooth, without drifting into the emotionally vacant world of smooth jazz." [4]

The album built on the success of the group's first album by incorporating dialogue-only tracks, sequencing, drum machine, a partial track, and backing band.

Pentatonix are an American a cappella group from Arlington, Texas, consisting of vocalists Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Matt Sallee, and Kevin Olusola. Characterized by their pop-style arrangements with vocal harmonies, basslines, riffing, percussion, and beatboxing, they produce cover versions of modern pop works or Christmas songs, sometimes in the form of medleys, along with original material.
