Sobo & Sobo was founded in 2002 by Greg Sobo, who serves as the firm’s chief executive officer. ^[1] By the early 2010s, the firm had opened five offices in New York’s Hudson Valley region, as well as in Manhattan and the Bronx. In 2023, the firm expanded into New Jersey and Illinois. As of 2025, Sobo & Sobo operates 19 offices across seven states. ^[2]

Notable litigation

• June 2015: Former Fox host and current United States Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth threw an axe that struck Jeff Prosperi, a drummer for Fox Studios, New York City. Sobo & Sobo represented Prosperi in the case. ^[6]

• June 2017: Greg Sobo represented Alyssa Elsman, her father Thomas Elsman, and other relatives and survivors of the 2017 Times Square car attack in a case against Richard Rojas. ^[7]

• July 2018: Sobo filed a second claim against New York City, alleging insufficient protection from civilian attacks. Claimants included Thomas Elsman, Gayatari Jariwala, William McCollough, Destiny Lightfoot, and Caroline Jacobs. ^[8]

• August 2018: Jessica Williams and William Nelson Sr. filed a joint lawsuit seeking $75 million in damages related to the same incident. ^[9]

• 2025: Greg Sobo filed a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian on behalf of Ivan Cantu, alleging negligent infliction of emotional distress due to a social media post. The case drew attention for addressing potential legal consequences of online activity. ^{[10] [11] [12]}
