Social Code (formerly known as Fifth Season) [1] was a Canadian alternative rock group formed in 1999 in St. Albert, Alberta.
The band was formed in 1999 by high school friends Travis Nesbitt (lead vocals) and Logan Jacobs (bass), under the name Fifth Season. Later on, David Hesse joined as a guitarist, and Ben Shillabeer as a drummer.
The band's first album, Patiently Waiting, was released in 2001. After the release of the album, the band decided to change its name upon finding a popular band under the same name overseas, and so they came up with the new name Social Code.
The band then landed a record deal with Interscope at the end of 2003, where they released their major label debut, A Year at the Movies In May 2004. The band went on to do opening shows with such bands as Rise Against, Fall Out Boy, Deftones and Good Charlotte among others.
In 2007 the St. Albert foursome took on the task of creating a new record on their own. Social Code's previous experience working with high-profile producers, such as Howard Benson (The All-American Rejects, Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance) in Los Angeles gave the band the experience and confidence to go it alone. They gutted the basement of Jacobs' house, built a studio and spent the next year working on their second album called Social-Code that was released in May 2007, in Canada. The album was successful in Canada, and spawned the successful singles "Bomb Hands", "The Shortest Line", "Everyday (Late November)" and "He Said, She Said". Supporting the album, the band toured with Sum 41 and Finger Eleven on their Strength In Numbers Tour.
The band reported on April 3, 2009 that mixing of their newest album, Rock 'N' Roll , was completed. [2] The album was produced by John Travis (Kid Rock, Buckcherry) in Edmonton [3] and mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Hinder, Aerosmith). It was announced on their Myspace page that the new album will be released on September 1, 2009, with the first single "Satisfied", released on iTunes on July 28, 2009, and a supporting tour coming in mid-September, following the album's release. Following the release of the album, the band toured in Canada with several other high-profile bands, such as Buckcherry and Rev Theory. Later in 2009, the band added Steve Faulkner as an additional guitarist.
Through 2010, the band continued to support the release of the album, headlining a Canadian tour in January 2010, with support act Ten Second Epic, opening for Buckcherry in May 2010, and supporting Airbourne on their major Canadian tour in July–August 2010, along with Bleeker Ridge. In October 2010, the band played the indie and electronica Java Rockin' Land festival in Jakarta, Indonesia, alongside such bands as Smashing Pumpkins, Wolfmother, Stereophonics, The Vines, Stryper, Dashboard Confessional, Superman Is Dead, Datarock, Mutemath, Arkarna and more.[ citation needed ]
On June 6, 2012, Social Code announced a permanent hiatus, and that the members were moving on to individual projects. Travis and Morgan founded the electro rock trio SIIINES. [4]
Steppenwolf was a Canadian-American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1967. The group was founded by singer/rhythm guitarist John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn and drummer Jerry Edmonton, all formerly of the Canadian band the Sparrows. Guitarist Michael Monarch and bassist Rushton Moreve were recruited via notices placed in Los Angeles-area record and musical instrument stores.
Blind Melon is an American rock band formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. Travis are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, and composed of Fran Healy, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop, and Neil Primrose. The band's name comes from the character Travis Henderson from the film Paris, Texas (1984). The band released their debut album, Good Feeling (1997), to moderate success where it debuted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart and was later awarded a silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in January 2000.

Buckcherry is an American hard rock band from Anaheim, California, formed in 1995. The band released two albums, Buckcherry (1999) and Time Bomb (2001), before dissolving in 2002. Buckcherry's first album Buckcherry was DreamWorks' first album to go gold. In 2005, lead vocalist Josh Todd and lead guitarist Keith Nelson reformed Buckcherry with a new lineup and released a new album in 2006, 15. It contained Buckcherry's biggest crossover hits to date, "Crazy Bitch", and their first Billboard Hot 100 top ten hit, "Sorry". The band continued to record albums, releasing five between 2008 and 2019: Black Butterfly in 2008, All Night Long in 2010, Confessions in 2013, Rock 'n' Roll in 2015, and Warpaint in 2019. Their ninth album Hellbound released in 2021, and their tenth and most recent album Vol. 10 released in 2023.
Art of Dying is a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, formed in 2004 by lead singer Jonny Hetherington and guitarist Greg Bradley. Soon after, the duo added Chris Witoski on rhythm guitar, bassist Matt Rhode, and drummer Flavio Cirillo.
A Year at the Movies is the major label debut by the Canadian alternative/punk group Social Code, the band formerly known as Fifth Season. It was released in May 2004 in various countries, through Interscope. The first single from the album, "Beautiful", received significant play on radio stations throughout Canada. A music video was also released for the second single, "Whisper to a Scream ", a cover of post-punk band The Icicle Works.
Black Stone Cherry is an American rock band, formed in 2001 in Edmonton, Kentucky. They were signed to Roadrunner Records until 2015; the band is now signed to Mascot Label Group. The band consists of Chris Robertson, Ben Wells, Steve Jewell and John Fred Young. Black Stone Cherry has released eight studio albums as well as two EPs and have charted seventeen singles on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. Their latest album, Screamin' at the Sky, was released in 2023.

Time Bomb is the second studio album by American rock band Buckcherry. It was produced by John Travis and released on March 27, 2001, by DreamWorks Records. It is the band's first album as a five-piece as guitarist Yogi Lonich joined the band. It is the only album to feature him and is the last album to feature the original lineup, as drummer Devon Glenn and bassist Jonathan Brightman both departed the group after its release. It is also their final release on Dreamworks.

Saints of Los Angeles is the ninth and final studio album by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, released on June 24, 2008, by Mötley Records and Eleven Seven Music. This was the only full-length studio album with the band's original lineup since 1997's Generation Swine, following the return of drummer Tommy Lee, the last to feature guitarist Mick Mars before his dismissal from Mötley Crüe in 2022, and the last before their initial dissolution in 2015. Following its release, the band has avoided releasing any further albums in favor of releasing singles.
Black Butterfly is the fourth studio album by American hard rock band Buckcherry. The album was released on September 12, 2008, in Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom while being released on September 16 in the United States. It had been in production since late 2007. The limited fan edition was included with two demo songs, "Nothing" and "Stayin' High". Along with the bonus songs, the case came with a year free membership to the Buckcherry Fan Club, "Buckcherry's Bomb Squad". Black Butterfly debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200, making it the band's highest-charting album in the United States.

In 2007 Faulkner's debut studio album Hand Built by Robots was certified double platinum in the United Kingdom. The album topped the UK Albums Chart in August 2007. It was promoted by three singles, "Dream Catch Me", "I Need Something" and "Teardrop". "Dream Catch Me" reached number seven on the UK Singles Charts.
