Sohail Jaffar Ali (born 17 April 1967) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played first-class and List A cricket for Karachi, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation and Pakistan International Airlines from 1987 to 2002. [1]

In the 2000/01 domestic season, playing for Pakistan International Airlines against Agriculture Development Bank of Pakistan, Jaffar put on an unbroken stand of 326 for the first wicket with Ghulam Ali. [2] At the time it was the highest opening partnership in all List A cricket. [3]

The National Stadium, now known as National Bank Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket stadium in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board. It is the home ground of the Karachi Kings franchise in Pakistan Super League and of many other domestic cricket teams in Sindh. It is the largest cricket stadium in Pakistan with a capacity to accommodate 34,238 spectators. It was built in the early 1950s under the supervision of senior civil engineer Mr. Abdul Rasheed Khan (WP) and Mr. Kafiluddin (EP), and was formally inaugurated in April 1955. In October 2022, the National Bank of Pakistan and the PCB agreed to a five-year naming-rights agreement, and the Stadium got its new title, National Bank Cricket Arena.

Saleem Jaffar is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 14 Test matches and 39 One Day Internationals from 1986 to 1992. Jaffar was born in Karachi, Sindh. He was a right-handed batsman and left-arm fast bowler who played cricket for Pakistan as well as Karachi and United Bank Limited.

Ghulam Ali Ansari is a former Pakistani cricketer who played three ODIs between 1993 and 1995. He played first-class and List A cricket for various teams in Pakistan's domestic competitions between 1990 and 2006.

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Domestic cricket in Pakistan has undergone many reorganisations, with the number of teams and matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy changing regularly. It has been variously contested by associations or departments, or a combination of the two. Since 2019 it has been contested by regional teams only.

Sohail Khan, also known as Sohail Pathan, is a Pakistani cricketer. A right-arm fast bowler, he gained instant recognition during his debut first-class season in 2007 when he broke Fazal Mahmood's record for the best bowling figures by a Pakistani in a first-class match. Shortly afterwards he made his international debut, in an ODI against Zimbabwe. Khan was part of the team for 2015 Cricket World Cup.

Mohammad Amir is a Pakistani former cricketer who played for the Pakistan national cricket team. He is a left-arm fast bowler and a left-handed batsman. He retired from international cricket in 2020. Later on 24 March 2024, he took his retirement back and made himself available for the Pakistan cricket team. After playing in the T20 World Cup in June 2024, he announced retirement again in December 2024. He was a member of the Pakistan team that won the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 and 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

The Pakistani cricket team toured Australia in December 2016 to play three Test matches and five One Day Internationals (ODIs). The 1st Test at The Gabba in Brisbane was a day/night match played with a pink ball. In preparation for the first Test, ten matches in Pakistan's 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the first round of matches in Australia's 2016–17 Sheffield Shield season were played as day/night matches. Ahead of the Test matches, Pakistan also played a first-class match against Cricket Australia XI.

The Karachi Kings is a franchise cricket team that represents Karachi in the Pakistan Super League. They are one of the five teams that had a competition in the 2016 Pakistan Super League. The team was captained by Shoaib Malik and then by Ravi Bopara, and they stand on fourth position after winning just two matches from their eight matches in the PSL 2016.

The Pakistan cricket team toured Zimbabwe in July 2018 to play five One Day International (ODI) matches. All the fixtures were played at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. Originally, the tour was scheduled to have two Tests, three ODIs and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

Asif Mohammad is a former Pakistani cricketer who played 115 matches of first-class cricket in Pakistan, mostly for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), from 1979 to 2000. His father was the cricketer Raees Mohammad, and his uncles Wazir, Hanif, Mushtaq and Sadiq all played Test cricket for Pakistan.
