Sooraj Surendran is an Indian technologist and electronic engineering graduate from Anna University. [2] He has made significant contributions to motorized wheelchair deployment in Tamil Nadu. [3]
Surendran was born in Kollam, Kerala, India. [2] His mother Sudha was a housewife and his father was K Surendran Pillai. [4] He completed schooling in Sree Buddha, a Central Board of Secondary Education school in Karunagappalli, Kerala. He earned his degree from Anna University in electronic engineering.[ citation needed ]
Surendran graduated from Anna University with a BTech in electronic engineering in 2011. He worked on motorized wheelchair design and nursing care bed electronic unit design, and developed an electronic system for nursing care beds that integrated Bluetooth technology to control the functions of a nursing care bed via an Android application. [5] Surendran was invited to help develop electronic control units for lightweight motorized wheelchairs as a part of a Tamil Nadu program to distribute motorized wheelchairs to 2,000 people. [6] [5]

During his 36 years of service in ISRO, he had some of the major contributions, including two of the major missions of ISRO, namely Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan. Annadurai has been listed among 100 Global thinkers of 2014 and topped the innovators list. His works are mentioned in textbooks of Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education
Pondicherry University, also known as PU, is a central research university located in Kalapet, Pondicherry in Union Territory of Puducherry, India. It was established by an Act of Parliament in 1985 by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Government Villupuram Medical College is an educational institution established in 2010 in Mundiyampakkam village in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Jacob Cherian, popularly known as Ayya, was an Indian surgeon, educationist and a social worker. He was the founder of Christian Fellowship Community Health Centre Society, a non-governmental organization under which banner he established 24 primary health centres, besides 18 other institutions in the fields of health and education. Credited with the performance of over 25,000 surgeries, Cherian was a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, International College of Surgeons as well as of the American College of Surgeons, and a founder fellow of the Association of Surgeons of India. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, in 1999.
