Sosoliso Airlines Limited was a Nigerian scheduled, domestic, passenger airline. For much of its existence it had its head office in Ikeja, Lagos State. [1] Originally its head office was on the grounds of Enugu Airport in Enugu. [2]
It was established in 1994 and started operations in July 2000. The Nigerian government set a deadline of 30 April 2007 for all airlines operating in the country to re-capitalise or be grounded, in an effort to ensure better services and safety. Seven airlines failed to meet the deadline and as a result would not be allowed to fly in Nigeria's airspace with effect from 30 April 2007. These were: ADC Airlines, Fresh Air, Sosoliso Airlines, Albarka Air, Chrome Air Service, Dasab Airlines and Space World Airline. The affected airlines would only fly when they satisfied the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)’s criteria in terms of re-capitalization and thus be re-registered for operation. [3]
Sosoliso Airlines operated flights to Enugu, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Abuja and Lagos. Reservations are possible.

It was established sometime in the year of 1990 and operated a small charter service within Nigeria and other cities and countries in Western Africa. The company operated two BAC One-Eleven 500s since 1999, but the airline became defunct after April 30, 2007, after failing Nigerian airline safety standards. One aircraft has presumably been scrapped and the other, BAC One-Eleven 487GKF, remains in storage at Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, Romania as of August 2017.

West African Airways Corporation, or WAAC for short, was an airline that operated from 1946 to 1958, jointly owned by the governments of Britain's four west African colonies, namely The Gambia, the Gold Coast, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone. The carrier was headquartered at the Airways House in Ikeja, Nigeria, and operated from its hub in Lagos Airport. It was dissolved on 30 September 1958, after all the shareholder countries but Nigeria set up their own national airlines following their independence. As the sole remaining major stockholder of the airline, the government of Nigeria continued to operate it as WAAC Nigeria, which was eventually renamed Nigeria Airways and became the flag carrier of the country.

United Nigeria Airlines Limited, trading as United Nigeria Airlines,, is a private airline in Nigeria. The new start-up received its Air Operators Certificate (AOC), on 1 February 2021.
