Soul Proprietor is an EP by British singer-songwriter Alessi Laurent-Marke. It is her first on new record label Bella Union [1] and marks her move from major label Virgin to an independent. It coincides with her most high-profile tour as special guest to acclaimed British folk artist Laura Marling at her UK shows in April 2010. [2] Prior to its release music website Drowned in Sound offered a free download of one song from the EP, "Shovelling", as a preview. [3] Photographer Rebecca Miller took the cover shot at the How We Lived Then museum in Eastbourne. [4]

Caroline Hervé, better known by her stage name Miss Kittin, is a French electronic music producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter. Since rising to prominence in 1998 for her singles "1982" and "Frank Sinatra" with The Hacker, she has worked with other musicians such as Chicks on Speed, Felix da Housecat and Golden Boy. She released her debut solo album I Com in 2004, a second, BatBox, in 2008, and a third, Calling From The Stars, in 2013. She achieved international popularity with the singles "Rippin Kittin" and "Silver Screen Shower Scene".
Marissa Nadler is an American musician and fine artist based in Boston, Massachusetts. Active since 2000, she is currently signed to Sacred Bones Records and Bella Union, and released her eighth full-length studio album, For My Crimes, in September 2018. As a singer-songwriter, her music has been characterized as blending "traditional folk, Gothic Americana, and dreamy pop into an original musical framework". Her music "is rooted in old-school country and folk but brings in elements of experimental and black metal". Sometimes the term "dream folk" has been invoked to describe her work.
Bella Union is a British independent record label founded in 1997 by Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. It is now run solely by Raymonde.

Notes from the Treehouse is the debut studio album by the British singer-songwriter Alessi Laurent-Marke, otherwise known as Alessi's Ark, released in 2009. It was produced by Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes and recorded at his studio in Omaha, Nebraska. Rough Trade also exclusively sold the album with a limited edition CD that included four acoustic tracks of songs not on the album, including a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man" and came in a sleeve with artwork by Laurent-Marke. This limited edition CD was recorded by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons.
Bedroom Bound is an EP by British singer-songwriter Alessi Laurent-Marke featuring songs she had recorded at home in her bedroom and was sold independently through her MySpace page. All the songs, bar "My Bedroom", were later re-recorded in the studio with "The Horse" becoming her first release for Virgin Records. The new version of "For One Year" was an iTunes bonus track with her debut album Notes From The Treehouse, while "The Crown" was the b-side to the "Over The Hill" single and the re-recorded "Let's Race" was included on The Horse EP.
The Horse EP is an EP by British singer-songwriter Alessi's Ark. It was her first release for Virgin and featured re-recorded versions of two songs from her debut release, the Bedroom Bound EP, "The Horse" and "Let's Race" and two new tracks, "Neighbour's Birds" and "Patchwork Of Dreams". Jake Bellows of Neva Dinova provides guest vocals on lead track "The Horse".

Atomic is an extended play (EP) by English electronic musician and producer Labrinth. Written and recorded throughout 2012, it was self-released on Labrinth's own label Odd Child Recordings on 1 February 2013 as a free digital download.
The Still Life is the third album by Alessi's Ark. The album was produced by Andy LeMaster in his studio in Athens, Georgia over a three-week period and Nic Nell in his London studio. It features 12 songs written by Laurent-Marke, including re-recordings of two songs from the Rough Trade bonus CD that came with her debut album Notes from the Treehouse, and a cover of The National's Afraid of Everyone. It was released on 15 April 2013 in the UK and on 30 April 2013 in the US.
Snowbird is a British/American band consisting of former Cocteau Twins instrumentalist Simon Raymonde, also the founder of the London-based label Bella Union, and vocalist Stephanie Dosen. Dosen, originally a member of the 1990s techno band Virus, sang live with Massive Attack in 2008 and later collaborated with The Chemical Brothers. Dosen and Raymonde first worked together on her second solo album, A Lily for the Spectre, released by Bella Union in 2007. The duo's debut album as Snowbird, Moon, was released on 27 January 2014 on Bella Union.
