Soundscape was a music festival in Hamilton, New Zealand, held during Orientation week of University of Waikato from 2010 to 2014. The event saw a section of Alexandra Street closed off, with up to seven stages in the surrounding nightclubs and on the street. Although the event predominantly featured electronic dance music, the 2011 festivals have featured live rock, reggae and hip hop. [1]

The first Soundscape featured three stages of electronic music: Club Classics, Dirty Electric and Destructive Dub. The July 2010 festival expanded to five stages across four Hamilton central city nightclubs. The March 2011 Soundscape was the first to feature live music and international acts, which over 4000 people attended.

In March 2012 the event increased in size, yet again, and sold out at 5,500. It featured acts including Kora, AC Slater, Carl Nicholson, Redial, Distrakt and more. In July, Greg Stack and James Lawless launched a sister event called Homestyle - which follows a similar design, albeit smaller.

Soundscape's final event ran as 'Homestyle' in 2014, 3000+ people attended.

Artist lineups

Soundscape has featured DJs from around the world, including Dem Slackers, Octane & DLR, Nadisko, Distrakt, TrumpDisco and Jody6, Steve Hill, Carl Nicholson as well as established New Zealand music acts like Tiki Taane and Cornerstone Roots. The event has featured many local Hamilton bands and DJs. [2]

Homelands (festival)

Homelands was a music festival run by Mean Fiddler Music Group which consisted mainly of dance music, both live acts and DJs. The festival was held in locations in England, Scotland and Ireland in the period 1999 to 2005. The organisers of Homelands were also behind the Home Nightclubs chain including Home Nightclub in London and Sydney.

Glade Festival was an electronic dance music festival, founded by Nick Ladd and Ans Guise, which originally started out as Glastonbury Festival's Glade Stage, which was established by Luke Piper and Mark Parsons who also became founding partners in Glade Festival itself. Exeter breakbeat promoter Biff Mitchell also played an important role in the event's development. The annual festival took place for the first time over four days in the summer of 2004, attracting 22,500 people by 2007. The festival's home for the first five years was the Wasing Estate, in Berkshire. In 2009 it was held in Winchester, and in 2011 and 2012 its location was at Houghton Hall in Norfolk. The festival was cancelled in 2013, it did not reappear as was planned in 2014, however the Glade Stage at the main Glastonbury festival continues.

Parachute music festival Musical artist

The Parachute Music Festival was a Christian music festival held annually in various venues in New Zealand between 1992 - 2014 with the event being held at Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton, New Zealand from 2004. It was previously held at Totara Springs in Matamata and El Rancho, Waikanae The festival was run by Parachute Music and usually lasted for three nights and four days. It was held the weekend before Auckland Anniversary Day, in late January. 'Parachute' was one of the largest Christian music festivals outside of the United States and it was one of the largest multi-day festivals in the Southern Hemisphere. As well as musicians, it also featured guest speakers.

Jeremy Mayall is a New Zealand composer, record producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and film maker best known for his ONE FAT MAN album "A Typical Day in Suburbia", and his "Symphony No 1 for Orchestra and Turntables", which was performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO). The premiere performance was given by the Wellington Youth Orchestra (WYO) in 2005.

Sunburn Festival EDM Music Festival In India

Sunburn is a commercial electronic dance music festival held in India. From 2007 to 2015, it took place in Vagator, Goa, India every year, but in 2016 it was shifted to Pune, Maharashtra. However, for 2019, the festival came back to it home town in Vagator, Goa. It is Asia's largest music festival. Club Glow is an electronic music event promoter and venue owner based in Washington, DC. It currently operates Echostage and Soundcheck in DC, and has previously hosted numerous large-scale events and music festivals at the DC Armory and RFK Stadium. Since its inception in 1999, Club Glow has regularly hosted top international and local talent at its venues and Echostage is frequently nominated as one of the best electronic music venues in the United States, including nominations in 2011 and 2012 at the International Dance Music Awards as one of the "Best U.S. Clubs," as well as 2021's DJ Mag "Top 100 Clubs," where the venue was ranked as the world's best nightclub. In August 2011, Club Glow partnered with Live Nation to bring electronic music to Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland, and other music venues and events. The BPM Festival is an annual electronic music festival, held in Portimão, Portugal.

Life in Color was a United States-based EDM event company, best known for their "paint party" Life in Color concert tours. The company was founded by Sebastian Solano, Paul Campbell, Lukasz Tracz and Patryk Tracz as Committee Entertainment and the concert tour Dayglow in 2006. Billed by its organizers as the "world's largest paint party", the tour features performances by electronic musicians, joined by artistic performers and the tour's signature spraying of the audience with paint throughout the show. The company changed to its current name shortly after it was acquired by Robert F. X. Sillerman's SFX Entertainment in late 2012, with the original founders remaining as partners.
