South Fellini is an American media and apparel studio established by Tony Trov and Johnny Zito in 2005.
Trov and Zito began to collaborate while attending Temple University. South Fellini became the umbrella name for all creative projects made by the duo since 2005. [1]
In 2008, South Fellini won a comic book competition with their Girl Gang VS Zombie series Black Cherry Bombshells at Zuda Comics, a digital imprint of DC Comics. Zuda Comics also purchased their second series about South Philadelphia vampires titled LaMorte Sisters. Continuing their time in the comic book industry, a self published book titled Carnivale Robotique was released for Indie Skip Week. Their series Moon Girl was the first series published by Comixology and was printed to a graphic novel by Red 5 Comics. [2]
Following their time in the comic book industry, the duo wrote and directed two feature length horror comedies that were distributed by Gravitas Ventures. In 2013 Alpha Girls: A Satanic Sorority Slasher was released. Following the success of the film, American Exorcist was released in 2018. [3]
South Fellini opened their first brick and mortar shop on East Passyunk Avenue South Philadelphia in 2016. In 2019 South Fellini grabbed headlines for dressing Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies on his first home game in Philadelphia. [4] . Later than year South Fellini was in the news again for opening a second location in Fashion District Philadelphia that featured the mannequin prop from the 1987 film Mannequin. [5] In 2021 a Free Blockbuster was launched at the Passyunk Avenue shop location. [6]
During lockdown of Covid 19, South Fellini returned to producing media content starting with podcast dedicated to Philadelphia History titled Legends of Philadelphia.
In 2022, an ongoing project of short animated cartoons titled Wild Jawns began to be released on Instagram and Youtube. The cartoon was inspired by their art installation collaboration with street artist Kid Hazo. [7]
In 2023 began released a monthly multimedia hauntology project called Hoagiewave which featured lost Philadelphia media with original music by Trov. The music was released as an album on Spotify Apple Music and on cassette. [8]
Point Breeze is a multicultural neighborhood in South Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is bounded by 25th Street to the west, Washington Avenue to the north, 18th Street to the east, and Moore Street to the south. Southwest Center City lies to its north. Passyunk Square and East Passyunk Crossing lie to its east. Point Breeze is separated from Grays Ferry to the west by a CSX railway viaduct over 25th Street.
Moyamensing is an area of Philadelphia established as a Moyamensing Township during British colonial rule on the fast land of the Neck, lying between Passyunk and Wicaco. It was incorporated into Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, United States and today encompasses several neighborhoods along the Moyamensing Avenue corridor in the South Philadelphia section of Philadelphia.
Zuda Comics was DC Comics' webcomics imprint from 2007 until 2010. Some of the imprints series won awards and nominations from comic industry's Glyph Comics Awards and Harvey Awards. Bayou, Volume 1 was also named one of the 2010 Great Graphic Novels for Teens by the American Library Association.
High Moon is a horror Western webcomic series featuring werewolves. It was developed in 2004 with a debut in 2007 as a part of Zuda, DC Comics' webcomic imprint. The first season concluded on July 8, 2008. Season two ran from August 16 to November 25, 2008. Season three began its run on February 9, 2009. Season four began its run on October 3, 2009. Serialization ended when Zuda Comics shut down in 2010. Papercutz re-released High Moon in a new collection in 2017, consisting of three volumes for their Super Genius imprint.

The Night Owls is a twice weekly webcomic by cartoonists Peter and Bobby Timony which appears every Tuesday and Thursday on DC Comics Zuda imprint. It was selected as Zuda's Instant Winner in December 2007. The Timony brothers have been based out of New Providence, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City.
The Black Cherry Bombshells is a webcomic from DC imprint Zuda Comics, created by Johnny Zito and Tony Trov, illustrated by Sacha Borisich and colors by John Dallaire. It was selected as winner of Zuda's March 2008 competition. In 2014, the rights to the series returned to the creators and was re-released by South Fellini.
Passyunk Square is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia bounded by Broad Street to the west, 6th Street to the east, Tasker Street to the south and Washington Avenue to the north. Passyunk Square is bordered by the Bella Vista, Hawthorne, Central South Philadelphia, Wharton, and Point Breeze neighborhoods. The neighborhood got its Lenape name from the 1800s Passyunk Township, Pennsylvania which named Passyunk Square Park, located between 12th, 13th, Reed and Wharton Streets. The park was eventually renamed Columbus Square Park, and subsequently the neighborhood became known as Columbus Square. Sue Montella, Geoff DiMasi, and a group of neighbors revived the Passyunk Square name when forming the Passyunk Square Civic Association in 2003. The name "Passyunk Square" was researched and proposed by Geoff DiMasi after considering other historical names like Wharton that had been used in the neighborhood over the years. The area has come to be known as Little Saigon for its large Vietnamese American commercial and residential presence, with one of the largest Vietnamese populations on the east coast.
