The Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team represents the University of Southern Mississippi in NCAA Division I college baseball. They participate as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. The team has been to 20 NCAA Tournaments [2] and served as an NCAA Regional host in 2003, 2017, 2022 and NCAA Super Regional host in 2022,2023. The Southern Miss baseball team has produced 19 All-Americans. [2] and currently has 4 players on Major League rosters. Southern Miss has won six Conference USA Regular Season Championships (2003, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2022) and seven Tournament Championships (2003, 2010, 2016, 2018,2019, 2023,2024) and was the only team in CUSA to participate in every conference baseball tournament from the conference's inception until their departure following the 2022 season. During their inaugural season in The Sun Belt Conference, the Golden Eagles captured the SBC Tournament Championship. The Golden Eagles' rich history began in 1912 with a game against the Detroit Tigers, [2] a contest which Southern Miss lost by a score of 24–2. The Golden Eagles play at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi and consistently rank in the top 10 nationally in NCAA attendance figures. During the 2023 season, Southern Miss "sold out" every seat for Pete Taylor Park including several hundred "standing room only" seats.
Southern Miss qualified for its first College World Series in 2009 after winning the Atlanta Regional and the Gainesville Super Regional. [3] They would post an 0–2 record in Omaha, losing 7–6 against top-seeded Texas and 11–4 versus fourth-seeded North Carolina. [4]

The College World Series (CWS), officially the NCAA Men's College World Series (MCWS), is a baseball tournament held each June in Omaha, Nebraska. The MCWS is the culmination of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Baseball Championship tournament—featuring 64 teams in the first round—which determines the NCAA Division I college baseball champion. The eight participating teams are split into two, four-team, double-elimination brackets, with the winners of each bracket playing in a best-of-three championship series.
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles and Lady Eagles are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of Southern Mississippi (USM), located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The Golden Eagles compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level mainly as a member of the Sun Belt Conference (SBC). USM's newest sport of women's beach volleyball, a sport not currently sponsored by the Sun Belt, was added in the 2018–19 school year and competes in Conference USA. The school's earliest nickname was Tigers. Thereafter came such nicknames as Normalites, Yellow Jackets, Confederates, and Southerners. Golden Eagles was selected in a student/alumni vote in the early 1972. Seymour d'Campus is the name of the modern-day mascot eagle.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball team representing Mississippi State University in NCAA Division I college baseball. The program is a member of the West Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The current head coach is Chris Lemonis. They have appeared in the College World Series 12 times, winning their first national championship in their most recent appearance in 2021.
The 2008 LSU Tigers baseball team represented Louisiana State University in the NCAA Division I baseball season of 2008. This was the final year for the team in the original Alex Box Stadium. A new stadium was built during the season and opened on opening day of the 2009 season.
The Virginia Cavaliers baseball team represents the University of Virginia in NCAA Division I college baseball. Established in 1889, the team participates in the Coastal division of the Atlantic Coast Conference and plays its home games at Davenport Field at Disharoon Park. The team's head coach is Brian O'Connor. The team has reached the College World Series six times, most recently in 2023, and won the national championship in 2015.
The Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represents the University of Mississippi in NCAA Division I college baseball. The team participates in the West Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They are currently coached by Mike Bianco and play at Swayze Field. They have competed in the College World Series six times, with their first national championship coming in 2022.
The Tulane Green Wave baseball team represents Tulane University in NCAA Division I college baseball. The Green Wave baseball team competes in the American Athletic Conference and play their home games on campus at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. They are coached by head coach Jay Uhlman.
The Florida Gators baseball team represents the University of Florida in the sport of baseball. Florida competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They play their home games in Condron Ballpark on the university's Gainesville, Florida, campus, and are currently led by head coach Kevin O'Sullivan. In the 105-season history of the Florida baseball program, the team has won 16 SEC championships and has appeared in 13 College World Series tournaments. The Gators won their first national championship in 2017.
The Baylor Bears baseball team represents Baylor University in NCAA Division I college baseball. The team belongs to the Big 12 Conference and plays home games at Baylor Ballpark. The Bears are currently led by head coach Mitch Thompson, who was hired in 2022
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles baseball team is the intercollegiate baseball team of Oral Roberts University. It plays in the NCAA Division I Summit League. The team won the Mid-Con and Summit League regular season and tournament titles for 15 years straight between 1998 and 2012. Upon returning to the Summit League, the team repeated the feat in 2015 and 2016. In 2006, they advanced to the NCAA Super Regional.
The 2009 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was held from May 29 through June 24, 2009 and is part of the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college baseball teams were selected out of an eligible 286 teams on May 25, 2009. Thirty teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and 34 teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee.
The Stony Brook Seawolves baseball team represents Stony Brook University in NCAA Division I men's college baseball. Stony Brook currently competes in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) and plays its home games on Joe Nathan Field. Matt Senk has coached the team since the beginning of the 1991 season. The team has won the America East tournament six times in 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, and 2019. In 2011, the Seawolves claimed their first America East regular season championship. Stony Brook has participated in the NCAA tournament on six separate occasions, winning its first game in 2010.
Mark Calvi is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the South Alabama Jaguars baseball team. He was named to that position prior to the 2012 season.
Monte Wesley Lee is an American baseball coach, who is the current associate head baseball coach and recruiting coordinator for the South Carolina Gamecocks. He played college baseball for the Charleston Cougars from 1996 to 1999. He then served as the head coach of the College of Charleston Cougars (2009–2015). Under Lee, the Cougars reached four NCAA tournaments, including one NCAA Super Regional. As the head coach of the Clemson Tigers (2016–2022), his teams made four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and was nationally ranked in the top 25 in total wins (2016-2022). In addition, the Tigers won the ACC Conference Championship (2016) and regular season title (2018).
The Troy Trojans are the sports teams of Troy University. They began playing in the NCAA's Division I-A in 2001, became a football only member of the Sun Belt Conference in 2004, and joined that conference for all other sports in 2005. Troy University's athletics nickname was the Red Wave until the early 1970s when the student body voted to change the name to Trojans.

The 64-team tournament began on Friday, June 4, 2021, as part of the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season and concluded with the 2021 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, which started on June 19 and ended on June 30. Mississippi State defeated Vanderbilt in the best-of-three final series to win their first national championship in program history.
The 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was the 75th edition of the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The 64-team tournament began on Friday, June 3 as part of the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season and concluded with the 2022 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, which started on June 17 and ended on June 27. Ole Miss swept Oklahoma to win their first national championship in program history.
The 2022 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rebels played their home games at Swayze Field. In 2022, the Rebels went from the last team into the field of 64 NCAA tournament to the National Champions. The Rebels began their post-season with a loss in the SEC Tournament to Vanderbilt before they got hot. As the 3 seed in the Miami regional, the Rebels demolished the field, defeating Arizona, the host team Miami, and Arizona again to head to a Super Regional. In the Super Regionals, the Rebels traveled to Hattiesburg, MS where Southern Mississippi played host. In front of record crowds, Ole Miss outscored Southern Miss 15-0 in a two-game routing to head to Omaha for the first time since 2014. In Omaha, the Rebels remained hot, taking down Auburn and SEC foe Arkansas, before losing its first postseason game to Arkansas in a potential elimination game for the Razorbacks. In game three of the series against Arkansas, Rebel pitcher Dylan DeLucia threw a complete-game shutout to push the Rebels to their first College World Series championship game in program history. The Rebels ran through Oklahoma in two games to win the 2022 College World Series and complete their last-to-first run. The team was featured in the 2022 documentary, Belief: The Season Ole Miss Baseball.
The 2022 Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team represented the University of Southern Mississippi in the sport of baseball for the 2021 college baseball season. The Golden Eagles competed in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and in Conference USA. They played their home games at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The team was coached by Scott Berry, who was in his thirteenth season with the Golden Eagles. This was Southern Miss' last season to compete as a member of the C-USA as they moved on to the Sun Belt Conference following the conclusion of the season.
The 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was the 76th edition of the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The 64-team tournament began on Friday, June 2, as part of the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season and ended with the 2023 Men's College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, which began on June 16 and ended on June 26. LSU defeated Florida in the best-of-three final series to win their seventh national championship in program history.
