Southwestern Central High School is a public high school located at 600 Hunt Road in West Ellicott, New York, that is part of the Southwestern Central School District. Educates students in grades 9 through 12 from the surrounding areas of Busti, Celoron, Lakewood, and West Ellicott.
Southwestern consistently ranks in the top third among Western New York high schools in terms of academic performance. [3]
The Trojans compete in the fall in football, cross country, boys soccer, girls soccer, girls volleyball, girls tennis, and girls swimming and diving. Winter sports include basketball, wrestling, bowling, and boys swimming. Spring sports include track and field, boys tennis, baseball, softball, and golf.
The Southwestern girls swim team won the CCAA league with a season of no losses. The girls also claimed the Section 6 Class C title for both 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons.
The football team won the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C championship in 2008. [4] The Trojans completed the season with a 13–0 record. Coach Jay Sirianni was named New York State Class C Coach of the Year. Quarterback Zack Sopak and lineman Jasen Carlson were named to the first team All-State football team.
In 2009 the Trojans (13–0) claimed their second straight New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C football championship by downing Bronxville of Section 1, 40–14, at the Carrier Dome. [5] Lineman Jasen Carlson was awarded the Trench trophy as the Best High School Lineman in Western New York [6] and Quarterback Zack Sopak was awarded the Connolly Cup as most outstanding football player in Western New York. [7] First Team All-State honors awarded to Carlson, Sopak, Levi Bursch, and Ryan Buzzetto.
From 2015 to 2019, the Trojans football team was coached by former NFL player Jehuu Caulcrick.
Orchard Park is an incorporated town in Erie County, New York, United States. It is an outer ring suburb southeast of Buffalo. As of the 2010 census, the population was 29,054, representing an increase of 5.13% from the 2000 census figure. The town contains a village also named Orchard Park. Orchard Park is one of the Southtowns of Erie County and is best known as the site of Highmark Stadium, home of the National Football League's Buffalo Bills.
Leilehua High School is a public, co-educational, college preparatory high school in Wahiawa, Hawaii on the island of Oʻahu. It is part of the Hawaii State Department of Education, nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education, and fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school was first established in 1924, when Hawaii was still a territory and located close to present day Schofield Barracks. The graduating class of 1928 totaled 15 students, all dependents of military personnel. It relocated to its present 32-acre (130,000 m2) campus in the historic town of Wahiawa in 1949. The campus has sculptures by Satoru Abe, Bumpei Akaji, Claude Horan, Rick Mills, Jacob Sakaguchi, and Ken Shutt.

He played college football for the University of Florida, and led the Florida Gators to victory in the 2007 BCS National Championship Game. Leak played professionally for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL), the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Jacksonville Sharks and Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League (AFL).
Bruce Rankin Matthews is an American former professional football player who played as a guard, center, offensive tackle, and long snapper in the National Football League (NFL) for 19 seasons, from 1983 to 2001. He spent his entire career playing for the Houston / Tennessee Oilers / Titans franchise. Highly versatile, Matthews played every position on the offensive line throughout his NFL career, starting in 99 games as a left guard, 87 as a center, 67 as a right guard, 22 as a right tackle, 17 as a left tackle, and was the long snapper on field goals, PATs, and punts. Having never missed a game due to injury, Matthews' 293 NFL games started is the third most of all time, behind quarterbacks Brett Favre and Tom Brady.
The Trench Trophy is an award, started in 2003, which recognizes high school football lineman in the Western New York area. The award was founded by Len Kuhn and Carl Kuras. The Trench Trophy Award, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization officially established in 2015.
Craig Fertig was an American football player and coach. He was the head football coach at Oregon State University from 1976 to 1979, compiling a record of 10–34–1 (.233) in four seasons.
The 2007 Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team represented the University of Notre Dame in the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Charlie Weis and played its home games at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. For the first time in school history, Notre Dame opened the season with five losses. Their nine-loss season was also a school record.

Jehuu Caulcrick is a Liberian coach of American football and former fullback. As a player, he was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at Michigan State. Caulcrick also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills, and for nearly five years was a head coach at the high school football level.
Brian Delance Johnson is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the assistant head coach and offensive pass game coordinator for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He has been an offensive coordinator for Utah, Houston, and Florida of the NCAA and the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. Johnson played college football at Utah and was drafted by the New York Sentinels in the UFL Premiere Season Draft in 2009.
Mike Sirianni is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head football coach for Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania, a position he has held since the 2003 season after succeeding Pittsburgh Steelers great John Banaszak. Sirianni has compiled a record of 101–24 in 11 seasons as head coach. Sirianni's winning percentage of .846 is second best among active head coaches with at least five years of experience in NCAA football, trailing only that of Mount Union coach Larry Kehres, for whom he played. In his first 11 years of coaching at Washington & Jefferson, he won PAC Coach of the Year five times.
