Spacebomb Records is an independent record label based in Richmond, Virginia, co-founded by Matthew E. White in 2012. [1] [2] The label has released notable albums by Matthew E. White, Natalie Prass, and Bedouine. [3] [4] The label's first release, White's own Big Inner , garnered widespread attention and propelled the label to international recognition. [5] [6]

Fight the Big Bull is a Richmond, Virginia based improvisatory ensemble with two 2010 recordings selected for NPR's best of the year lists. The band was founded in the mid-2000s (decade) by guitarist Matthew E. White, one of the organizers of the Patchwork Collective, an arts group dedicated to creating a vital local music scene. The original configuration- called simply Fight the Bull- was a trio with drummer Pinson Chanselle and trombonist Bryan Hooten. The group was subsequently expanded to eight players The band has collaborated with Chicago saxophonist Ken Vandermark and NYC-based slide trumpeter and composer Steven Bernstein. They also collaborated with alternative folk singer David Karsten Daniels, with White providing arrangement to his critically well-received 2010 Thoreau project "I Mean to Live Here Still." A performance with Daniels at the NYC club La Poisson Rouge was reviewed by the New York Times.

Waxahatchee is an American indie music project, formed in 2010 by American singer-songwriter Kathryn Crutchfield, known professionally as Katie Crutchfield, following the breakup of her previous band P.S. Eliot. The band is named after Waxahatchee Creek, in Alabama, where Crutchfield grew up. Originally an acoustic solo project, her recordings now tend to involve a full backing band. As Waxahatchee, she has released six solo studio albums to date: American Weekend (2012), Cerulean Salt (2013), Ivy Tripp (2015), Out in the Storm (2017), Saint Cloud (2020) and Tigers Blood (2024). Away from Waxahatchee, Crutchfield was also a member of alternative country duo Plains alongside Jess Williamson.

As a solo artist he has released two studio albums, Big Inner and Fresh Blood, and two collaboration albums, Gentlewoman, Ruby Man with Flo Morrissey and Broken Mirror: A Selfie Reflection with Lonnie Holley. White is also the founder and a co-owner of Spacebomb, originally conceived as a record label with a house band, and now a multi-disciplinary music company with a studio and offices in Richmond, Virginia.

Swear and Shake was an indie folk band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 2010 by Kari Spieler, Adam McHeffey, the band included Shaun Savage. Time Out New York described their sound as "postcard-perfect indie folk with an undercurrent of sly humor." Swear and Shake self-identify their sound as "Big Hook Americana". The band relocated from Brooklyn, New York to Nashville, Tennessee, in November, 2014, to write their second full-length record. On November 23, 2017, via social media, the band announced their breakup and that they will be moving onto new projects after 7 years as Swear and Shake.

Daniel Francis Croll is a British singer-songwriter. He is known for songs including "From Nowhere," "Compliment Your Soul," "Home," and "Yesterday." Often associated with indie pop and folktronica, his work also spans genres such as indie folk, rock music, and 1970s-style R&B and soft rock. He began his career in 2011 when he was named Songwriter of the Year by the Musicians' Benevolent Fund while attending the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. His debut single, "From Nowhere," was released in 2012 and achieved commercial success. Croll followed it with 2014's Sweet Disarray, a full-length album released by Deram Records/Decca Records (UK) and Capitol Records (US). Since that time, he has released a number of works with Communion Music including the studio albums Emerging Adulthood (2017), Grand Plan (2020), and Fools (2023), as well as the EP On Top (2021). Super Doppler is a psychedelic rock band from Norfolk, VA consisting of six members: Neal Friedman on keys, guitar, and vocals; Michael Adkins on keys, guitar, and vocals; Cole Friedman on bass guitar; Tyler West on percussion; Harry Slater on guitar, keyboards, and vocals, and Bryan Adkins on drums. They began to attract a following while touring the Eastern United States extensively. They released their self-titled debut album in May 2015. Prior to releasing their second album Moonlight Anthems in 2017, the band announced they had changed their name to Super Doppler. The band self-released Moonlight Anthems on June 16, 2017.

Trey Pollard is an American arranger, music producer, composer, conductor and instrumentalist in Richmond, Virginia. As co-owner and in-house arranger of Spacebomb Records, Trey has arranged orchestral arrangements for artists such as Matthew E. White, Natalie Prass, Foxygen, Helado Negro, The Waterboys, and Charlie Fink. In 2017, he composed music for the podcast S-Town from the producers of This American Life and Serial.

Big Gold Dream is a 2015 film documenting the story of Scotland's post-punk scene, focusing on record labels Fast Product and Postcard Records. Directed by filmmaker Grant McPhee, the film's name is taken from the 1981 Fire Engines single of the same name, the final release on the Pop Aural label.
