Speed Is Dreaming is the sophomore studio album by American alternative rock band St. Johnny and their first release for DGC Records.
Editors at AllMusic Guide rated this album four out of five stars, with critic Nitsuh Abebe opining that the band retained their characteristic melodic compositions, but having a major record label "cleans up some of the band's sound and tightens their songwriting". [1] Andrew Earles highlighted the band's previous debut album High as a Kite in Gimme Indie Rock: 500 Essential American Underground Rock Albums 1981-1996 and also called this album "near-excellent". [2] A review in Billboard , noting that the "D.I.Y. spirit" is still present in the band's major-label debut. [3] In an overview of the band's career for Trouser Press , Deborah Sprague notes that Speed Is Dreaming improves on the band's independent work and praises the interplay of Tom Leonard's layered guitar along with Bill Whitten's vocals. Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge is the second studio album by American rock band Mudhoney. It was recorded at a time when the band was thinking of signing to a major record label, but decided to release the album on Sub Pop in 1991. The album shipped 50,000 copies on its original release. It was credited with helping to keep Sub Pop in business.

The band was fronted by Randall Lee formerly of The Cannanes and later of Ashtray Boy on vocals and guitar; Susannah Stewart-Lindsay, previously a member of the Adelaide-based band, Rewind on the Paranoid Side, on guitar; and Jo Packer on drums. Francesca Bussey, later a member of The Cannanes, was a member of Nice on bass guitar during the recording sessions for their first album, Nice (1992), but left during production and was credited only as a guest. Bussey was replaced on bass guitar by Mark King.
