Spirit Lake is a lake in Price County, Wisconsin and Taylor County, Wisconsin that is the source of the Spirit River. It is contiguous and at the same elevation as North Spirit Lake, connected by a narrow channel. [1] The lake features a number of species of recreational fish including muskellunge, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. [2]

In 1982 the non-profit Spirit Lakes Improvement Association was established for the purpose of improving the general quality of Spirit Lake and North Spirit Lake. [3]

Timms Hill or Timm's Hill, is the highest natural point in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Located in north-central Wisconsin in Timms Hill County Park in the Town of Hill in Price County, After being surveyed by Quentin Stevens of Ogema Telephone Co in 1962, Timms Hill was discovered to have an elevation of 1,951.5 ft (595 m). It is less than 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Highway 86, about midway between Ogema and Spirit and about 23 miles (37 km) west of Tomahawk.

Lake DuBay is a reservoir on the Wisconsin River in Marathon and Portage Counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The lake covers an area of 6,700 acres (2,700 ha) and has a maximum depth of 30 feet (9.1 m). A dam on the lake is used to generate hydroelectric power. The community of Knowlton is located on the shore of the lake, as are 122 homes and three parks. Interstate 39 and U.S. Route 51 provide access to the lake, as do several county highways. While the lake is frozen in winter, it is used for ice racing by the "Winter Thunder Club".

The Spirit River is a tributary of the Wisconsin River with headwaters in Price County and a confluence with the Wisconsin in Lincoln County just downstream from Lake Mohawksin. The source is Spirit Lake near Timms Hill. The Ojibwe name for the river was Manatokikewe Sebe . The river flows nearly west to east. About one mile from its mouth, the Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company maintains a dam which forms the Spirit River Flowage.

The Manitowish River is a river in Vilas County and Iron County in the state of Wisconsin in the United States. Its source is Fishtrap Lake near Boulder Junction. The conjunction of the Manitowish River and the Bear River is the source of the north fork of the Flambeau River. Historically the Manitowish River was an important part of an extensive network of canoe routes linked by short land portages, used by the Ojibwe and fur traders. In modern times the river and the lakes it connects are popular recreational waterways.
