Sport1 is a Lithuanian sport channel founded on 16 August 2008. [1] It became the first sport channel in Lithuania founded by the Lithuanian television network and broadcasts all programs only in Lithuanian language. [1]

The 2007 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2007, was the 35th FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship held by FIBA Europe, which also served as Europe qualifier for the 2008 Summer Olympics, giving a berth to the champion and runner-up teams. Russia won its first EuroBasket title since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, by defeating hosts Spain, with a 60–59 score in the final. Russia's Andrei Kirilenko was voted the tournament's MVP.

All Turkish and Ukrainian programs are dubbed. Famous Lithuanian journalist Edmundas Jakilaitis was the first channel manager. In January 2013, he was replaced by Linas Ryškus. 45% of all showing programs are taken from foreign countries, like Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
