Sportpark Schildman is a municipal park and sports complex in Hendrik Ido Ambacht, Netherlands. [1] [2] [3] It contains the main grounds, training fields, and facilities for:

History

In 1969–1970, Schildman was expanded eastwards to also include tennis and hockey facilities. [10] In the mid-1970s it was expanded southward to include more training fields.

Ambachtse Mixed Hockey Club 1965 (AMHC '65) [11] moved to Schildman in 1968 [12] and merged in 1988 into a field hockey club from Zwijndrecht. [13] Sandido marching and show band, founded in 1967 by the local orange association and since the mid 1970s at Schildman, shut down about 2018. Its former building had already been sold to a church, De Nieuwe Hoop. [14] [15]

In the 2020s, the soccer fields will be expanded and updated. [16]

Jack B. van den Berg is a Dutch football manager and a former player. While coaching ASWH, he won the 2005 national amateur championship and the 2006 Rinus Michels Award for managers in nonprofessional leagues. During a long stint at BVV Barendrecht Van den Berg became a full-time coach. In 2015–2016 he coached the first squads of two small town rivals, promoting both ASWH to the Saturday Derde Divisie and IFC to the Sunday Hoofdklasse. From February until October 2018 he coached VV Katwijk, winning a Tweede Divisie championship.

Gerard Weber is a Dutch former professional footballer for Excelsior Rotterdam. Nicknamed Webertje, Weber was known for his speed. He played both as a midfielder and as a forward. Weber won several championships with Excelsior. He went on to manage football teams in the Rotterdam region, living in Zwijdrecht.
