Squeaky WheelFilm & Media Art Center (Buffalo Media Resources Inc.) is a non-profit, media arts center based in Buffalo, New York. [1] [2] [3] Founded in 1985, the organization provides the Western New York region with low-cost media equipment rentals, media arts education for youth and adults, residencies for artists and researchers, and exhibitions, screenings, and other public programming. [4] Since 2017, Squeaky Wheel has been certified by Working Artists and the Greater Economy (W.A.G.E.). [5]

Anthony Schmalz Conrad was an American video artist, experimental filmmaker, musician, composer, sound artist, teacher, and writer. Active in a variety of media since the early 1960s, he was a pioneer of both drone music and structural film. As a musician, he was an important figure in the New York minimalist scene of the early 1960s, during which time he performed as part of the Theatre of Eternal Music. He became recognized as a filmmaker for his 1966 film The Flicker. He performed and collaborated with a wide range of artists over the course of his career.

Amanda Browder is an American installation artist known for her large-scale fabric installations on building exteriors and other public sites. Her work incorporates donated materials and local volunteers, creating site-specific art. She is the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and Transformation Fellowship from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Sondra Perry is an interdisciplinary artist who works with video, computer-based media, installation, and performance. Perry's work investigates "blackness, black femininity, African American heritage" and the portrayal or representation of black people throughout history, focusing on how blackness influences technology and image making. Perry explores the duality of intelligence and seductiveness in the contexts of black family heritage, black history, and black femininity. "Perry is committed to net neutrality and ideas of collective production and action, using open source software to edit her work and leasing it digitally for use in galleries and classrooms, while also making all her videos available for free online. This principle of open access in Perry's practice aims to privilege black life, to democratize access to art and culture, and to offer a critical platform that differentiates itself from the portrayal of blackness in the media". For Perry, blackness is a technology which creates fissures in systems of surveillance and control and thus creates inefficiency as an opportunity for resistance.

Jody Lafond is an American video artist and documentary filmmaker, and a co-founder of the Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center in Buffalo, NY. Lafond began producing work in the 1980s, and from 1990 to 1991 was the producer of Artwaves, a weekly public-access cable television program in Buffalo. Her works have been shown in Canada and the United States. Two career retrospectives of her video work have been held at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, one in 1994 and one in 2001.

belit sağ is a videographer and visual artist from Turkey, and based in Amsterdam. She studied mathematics in Ankara and audio-visual arts in Amsterdam. She co-initiated projects like Kara Haber (2000–2007) and bak.ma. She has been a vocal opponent of censorship within Turkey through the early twenty-first century, publishing a widely read anti-censorship article in 2016.

Millie Chen is Taiwanese-born Canadian artist, educator, and writer. Based in Buffalo, New York, Chen is a professor in the Department of Art at the University at Buffalo.

Amira Gad is an Egyptian art curator, writer, and editor in modern and contemporary art and architecture who was born in France but grew up in Saudi Arabia. Most recently, she was Head of Programs at Light Art Space (LAS), a private foundation based in Berlin (2020-2023).
